ESPN Power Rankings: Lakers #6

ESPN Power Rankings: Lakers #6

Postby Radner on Mon Dec 24, 2007 8:40 pm

L.A. needs a 6-1 spurt to match last season's 23-11 start. But even if the Lakers can't follow up this 8-2 surge by winning six of seven, scouts are almost unanimous in calling this the best post-Shaq team L.A. has had.

Although i really don't give a crap about stein's power rankings, it would be nice to reach #1 again one day.

#1 doesnt mean a whole lot

During the threepeat years other teams were ranked ahead of us as the favorites to win it all

That's pretty good actually. Yeah they don't matter, but it's nice to see that we're recognized as one of the better teams in the league again. We can win any game on any given night and that's a nice thing to know, gives me pride in my team.

I doubt we will ever be #1 on those Power Rankings, at least for this season. I am happy to see that we are #6, we have exceeded a lot of expectations this year, and shall keep doing it!

Until we actually get out of the first round, it will be Kobe and a bunch of scrubs.

Considering this year feels different, I think it's going to be the Lakers. :jam2:

Doesn't mean its false either.

There isn't a single former or present allstar on this roster besides Kobe....

That's why they aren't a contender.

That's why names like Garnett, Kidd, and JO are being tossed around. Because all three of those guys aren't scrubs, they are allstars.

You mean always has. That's why they keep getting bounced in the first round or don't even make the playoffs.

Kobe & the Scrubs...still looking for a decent #2 option. Preferably an allstar.

No, I mean it never was.

Try passing your B.S. that a double-double forward is a "scrub" elsewhere. Thanks.

It has been the past three years.
Kobe Byant has brought the Lakers three championships, 4 Finals in 5 years, carried an absolutely pathetic team to the playoffs in the loaded Western Conference twice and almost upset the so-called MVP, and has given us countless thrills and memories. If you are not a Kobe fan, then you are not a Laker fan, period.

Well when the Zen master has to resort to his superstar going off on scoring binges to keep the team in a playoff race then i'm pretty sure a lot of the squad are scrubs.

Zen basically admitted his equal opportunity offense wasn't working last season and told Kobe to jack up as as he pleased. Why? Because Bryant's teamates sucke.

So yes, i'd say that Bryant's teamates were scrubs for most of the 2005-2006 season and for the 2nd half of last season.

When half of your team is injured, that's what happens melo.

Kobehasthemagic, Lamar Odom is a not scrub. Period. If a 15/10 guy is a "scrub", then what the hell is a definition of a scrub?

Worrying about Power Rankings is something Suns fans do. :mhihi:

Agreed. I like using PR to see where we are in the grand scheme of things, but they dont mean anything so I dont get butthurt if were low or excited when were high. Like when we were ranked #2 in the west and #1 chance to make the finals, I ddnt think were the best team, just that were playing good ball and that our record isnt a fluke.
