2,400 miles from LABeing a Lakers fan in North Carolina isn’t really that big of a deal, although I haven’t met that many in my lifetime so far. After going to the Lakers-Bobcats game in Charlotte this season, I soon realized that there were quite a few Lakers fans in and around Charlotte, I was amazed at how many Lakers fans were in attendance. However, where I live, in the northwest corner of the state, most people don’t even talk about the NBA, or even care. My dad raised me to be a big Laker fan as I grew up, apparently when him and his best friend were younger, they decided to pull for Rival teams as they were growing up, my dad chose LA, his friend chose Boston. So in an area where people don’t even really care about the NBA, a rivalry is in full bloom. People in LA, and people in Beantown obviously understand the rivalry, but no one would think about two families in North Carolina that care so much about the 2008 NBA finals, or heck anybody in North Carolina would care, the Bobcats suck afterall. Although the Lakers are down 3-1, you never know what could happen, expect the unexpected. Sound off in the Lakers Forums!
