Congratulations to Muggle for the Post of the Week. Muggle offers us an opinion on Smush and the recent struggles he’s been having, and views on the pride of being a Laker. Discuss the post here. First of all, I can’t believe any Lakers fan (or any team fan), would EXCUSE POUTING, especially during team time outs. Second of all, I see Luke, Kwame, Kobe, Jordan, and Lamar all being vocal in team huddles and on the bench with each other. Someone mentioned Kwame getting yanked, replaced by Andrew, and then cheering on the side when Andrew makes a nice play. That’s being a teammate, even when you aren’t in the game. I hope you will all recall he did the same thing LAST YEAR, very close to the playoffs, when team chemistry was critical. Also, you downplayed Smush being a loner on the team, and then actually question if his loner status pouting affects team chemistry??? Newsflash, that kind of behavior takes away from team chemistry, especially if one teammate tries to get him involved and Smush just ignores it. I’ll betcha Luke was not the only one who noticed that piss-poor attitude. And I don’t want to hear any of this “oh, he got benched, I would be bummed too” nonsense, cause all you have to do is look at two guys who’ve got it worse “playing time wise” than Smush…Sasha and Ronny. Ronny sees very VERY little minutes but he’s always 110% supportive of every teammate and every play. Sasha, despite sucking so bad, give his best effort every time he gets a chance, and when Phil yanks him, you can tell he’s beating himself up inside, while Smush would rather glare and act aloof towards the coach and the team. That’s BS behavoir, and it’s unacceptable. Believe it it or not, donning the P&G is something to be proud of, something to respect, and something to put your all into. Smush still thinks he’s owed something big, when the truth is he’s been given a golden opportunity and he’s pouting it away, and what is sad is fans like you giving him a pass because you personally know him to be a nice guy. Smush should be fined or suspended for a day for behavior detrimental to the team with that one incident. And he’s lucky I’m not blessed with your season tix because he’d be hearing it from me every night he brings that attitude with him to the game. Sound off in the Los Angeles Lakers Forums!
