Bynum out 4-8 weeksThe Los Angeles Lakers will be without their young center for the immediate future. Andrew Bynum will miss a minimum of eight weeks after MRI tests revealed a subluxation of the patella and a bone bruise of his left knee, the Lakers announced Monday. Bynum, 20, suffered the injury in Sunday’s 100-99 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies. He is expected to make a full recovery. A key contributor to the Lakers’ 25-11 start to the season, Bynum suffered the injury in the third quarter Sunday night. With just under nine minutes left in the third, Bynum went up for a rebound. As he came down, his left foot landed on top of teammate Lamar Odom’s foot, causing his left knee and ankle to turn awkwardly. Bynum laid on the floor for a short while before leaving the court with the help of team’s training staff. In his third year in the NBA, Bynum is averaging 13.1 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.1 blocked shots per game. Sound off in the Lakers Forums!
