Craig Hodges joins Lakers bench a Assistant Coach

Yahoo Sports:EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) — Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson has reached back into his past, hiring former Chicago Bulls guard Craig Hodges as a special assistant coach.

He will work with individual players on offensive skills, primarily shooting, the team said Wednesday.

Hodges played on the Bulls’ 1991 and ‘92 NBA championship teams coached by Jackson. He spent 10 seasons in the league, playing for three other teams besides the Bulls.

Hodges won the 3-point shooting contest at the All-Star game three times, and he averaged 40 percent from long-range in his career.
