Well, that sounds about right. I would still take an O lineman over him though, look at Denver for all these years now. other than TD, it seems that all those RB's have been good because of that line. |

I don't think they will this year. I think they're going to be competitive in just about every game (not against the Pats yet) though. If they take McFadden, they're probably set for a crazy run through the next few seasons where the one question mark is, sorry to say, J-Rock. If he can prove me wrong and be a solid starter this year and progress into a borderline pro-bowl caliber QB, they should make the playoffs two years from now (and have a shot at it next year), and then be off on a lengthy run of 9-12 win seasons, a real revitalization for the franchise. _________________

He's going to prove you wrong... Brady Quinn got an offer from the Raiders to be the number one overall pick, but he rejected the offer. You always hate on Russell for holding out, but Quinn would of done the same thing if he was the first overall pick.
Should we go after Chad Johnson? |

Yes, we should
And we shouldn't take McFadden. We should take the best OL available because otherwise, no matter how good Russell is, he's going to be bruised and battered a few weeks into the season. That's not good for anyone's development. _________________

I think our OL can be solid for next season... Would you pass up on McFadden and Chris Long for some OL help?
Who would you take with the first round pick?
I don't think Jake Long is going to be available when we pick and I don't want another Robert "Bust" Gallery on the team. |

We're going to suck again next year
I hated pretty much all of our acquisitions. Paying a ton of money for Deangelo who is inferior to Nnamdi, giving Tommy Kelly that ridiculous contract after he had a serious injury, signing Kwame Harris (who is hated by Niner fans as much as Gallery and Sims were) - we really didn't make our team that much better.
At the draft, if Chris Long is gone I hope we pick Vernon Gholston. We need help on the defensive line, and I think we're fine at running back with Fargas and Bush. |

There were rumors that the Raiders contacted him with a pathetically low bid, which Brady rejected. Then they ended up breaking the bank for Russell. _________________

It was a fair deal...
The Raiders tried to work out deals with Quinn, Russell, and Johnson a week before the draft, but everybody wanted a lot of money.
The Raiders would of ended up breaking the bank for Quinn.
Do you guys think Quinn regrets rejecting the offer? |

Sure. Do I think Russell is anywhere near as good as Quinn? Nope.
BTW, all rumors were that the Raiders were playing low ball with Quinn. _________________

Do you remember the contract details?
tr, lets do a sig and avy bet. I think Quinn will get a chance to play this season... if Russell has a better season than Quinn... you will use a Russell sig and avy for the whole off season. If Quinn has a better season... I'll use a Quinn sig and avy for the whole off season.

I would go for a bet too. However, I don't think he's getting much PT this year. I recently saw something that the Browns are going with their other starter this year. So maybe he'll get SOME pt, but nearly not as much as Russell. _________________

Another terrible decision by Al, choosing McFadden over Dorsey and Gholston.
We're gonna have the worst d-line in the NFL next season. |

I'm okay with this draft, to be honest. He could be the best Raiders RB since, well, since...Allen/Jackson? Garner for sure. _________________

So are we going to start the season with four running backs? Or are we going to ship out Michael Bush or Rhodes? Lamont and Echemandu are good as gone.
I really hope we give Bush a shot. He's got a ton of potential. If we have to give upi another running back, I'd rather get rid of Rhodes. |

I could live with Run-DMC.
He's someone that's going to attract people, myself included. He's got all the tools to be a star and he's capable of making an immediate impact next season. If you know Davis, you know he wasn't going to pass up on Darren. _________________

I'd be surprised if McFadden is anything more than a solid RB. That said, Oakland's run game looks very efficient. A guy like McFadden could put up a string of 1200-1300 yard seasons if he's healthy.
McFadden
Fargas
Rhodes
Bush
That's a really nice group of guys. I think, unfortunately, Rhodes is gone. I thought Rhodes was the best of the bunch, but you don't sign Fargas to that kind of contract to trade him and you probably can't get much for Bush. Rhodes could get a future pick or a guy who can contribute somewhere. _________________
