| Quote: |
With the cooperation of the police agency of a small metropolitan community, 45 consecutive, disposed, false rape allegations covering a 9 year period were studied.
False rape allegations constitute 41% of the total forcible rape cases (109) reported during this period.
These false allegations appear to serve three major functions for the complainants: providing an alibi, seeking revenge, and obtaining sympathy and attention.
False rape allegations are not the consequence of a gender-linked aberration, as frequently claimed, but reflect impulsive and desperate efforts to cope with personal and social stress situations.
False rape allegations are reported in similar numbers at college campuses; approximately 50% of rape charges are admitted to be false by the accuser. |

I think that's quite high ... I'm thinking those numbers are a bit off.
And just for perspective ... some say as many as 80% of all Rapes are not even reported. |

| One study is not a true analysis of what is really going on out there. That study is biast and who is to say that he did not rape her? A person's background or whatever they are wearing does not justify being assaulted!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone has their issues and the victim is always on trial instead of the one that assaults. Maybe next time that you decide to post study results try to get a collection of studies and test the biast in a study before taking it as the truth.[/i][/b] |

"The `unfounded' rate, or percent of complaints determined through investigation to be false, is higher for forcible rape than any other Index crime. In 1991, 8 percent of forcible rape complaints were `unfounded,' while the average for all Index crimes was 2 percent."
There's a quote I found from an old 1991 study. Gonna check out the official FBI files ... see what I can find. Somewhere it was saying that the general standard the FBI goes by is about 10-15% ... I'll see if I can confirm. |
