Quote:
SACRAMENTO -- Sacramento Kings forward Lawrence Funderburke will be sidelined at least six months by surgery on his left Achilles tendon, the team said Friday.

Funderburke, who missed 16 games last season because of foot problems, had surgery Monday at the Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Funderburke had the operation to relieve chronic tendinitis in his left Achilles tendon. During the procedure, doctors found a partial tear in the tendon. His leg will be in a series of casts through mid-January, then he'll start a six-week physical therapy program.

The 6-9 power forward is in his seventh year with the Kings, the longest service with the team of any player on its current roster. He's averaging 6.4 points a game over that span.

LOL...the Kings are really not getting it done on the offseason. Webber's case, Bibby's healing foot, everyone recuperating, losing key players, now Funderburke screws himself up. Guess they have to rely on Tony Massenburg and Anthony Peeler a lot this season, don't they?

This could make them re-sign Jim Jackson.

Do they have the money? They would need to request waivers then, like waive Funderburke or something, to afford JJ.

They're already short a player, now Funderburke is out till April, Webber isn't gonna play till Nov-Dec. Bibby's ankle or foot hurts.

They need to do something.

that's funny C-Web and F'Burke are both out. Rumors are that they are trying to trade him, and if they do this it would be for financial reasons.
