He always seems to start off saying those exact words whenever he is on TNT.......Its like he is an echo or something and more than once Ive mumbled to myself that sometimes its pointless to ask his opinion if Charles had already spoken. _________________

After a whole career of little [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. You must edit this post prior to submitting.] nipping at Kobe's heels, he's not going to let some fat underachieving moron affect his game. |

No, he is not. Saying that he's speaking the truth doesn't make it so. He's just rabble rousing like he's done his whole TNT career; he talks [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. You must edit this post prior to submitting.] just to generate controversy. |

So what conclusion do we all draw if Kobe does NOT play tomorrow night? Right now there is a thread with the active/inactive lists for tomorrows games and Kobe is on the INACTIVE list.
Christ almighty!! Someone PLEASE tell me his wrist injury is truly serious enough to miss the season opener. |

I'm getting a feeling that everyone is at the point where they are saying, forget it, trade him. I know magic doesn't like kobe as a person and kobe's public outcries had made the org look so bad within the last 3 months.
front office or not, the owner has rings, won rings, and will still win rings.
not one team stayed on top forever.
everybody, i MEAN EVERYBODY is sick and tired of this kobe stuff. just get traded already and gain some fans in chicago and the east coast but gain a bunch of haters as well.
count me in on the hater side. It's going to be a blast to boo him so damn loud when chicago does visit. I MEAN SO DAMN LOUD!
I also hope Deng shuts him down too.

This is pretty much how I feel at this point. I actually took a break from all things Lakers this summer just to get away from all this Kobe hoopla. Unfortunately, even now as the regular season is about to start, it's still the same old drama and I'm sick of it. I just want to watch some Laker basketball for ****'s sake.
And also, Kobe mentioned in an interview he'll play wherever he ends up. Well, in that case, waive the no-trade clause already if he's still hell bent on getting out of LA _________________ A legendary day (81 points) - Jan. 22, 2006 vs. Raptors.
And at the end of 3 quarters, the Mavs - 61, Kobe Bryant - 62 - Dec. 20, 2005
MVP! MVP! MVP! - May 7, 2008... LONG OVERDUE!
07/08 - Elite once again!

you are right... i heard that phrase about him playing wherever he is about three times, weeks apart.
You know , and i think everyone else also knows that Kobe was calling a bluff. Buss gave him the summer to relax, calm down, clear his head and continue to be the king of LA.
Preseason came along and Cryant's body language was so digusting it made the whole laker org look bad. No one was having fun besides turiaf. Kobe had like three TO's in a span of 5 mins, but when Bynum drops a tough pass Cryant turns around and rolls his eyes. ??? yea, team chemistry.
Kobe wants to be in LA, his heart and soul knows it as well. He wants to be with the West, Magic and the greats. His legacy won't be as strong with two teams on his resume. He wants to stay, but his pride got in the way and it's to a point of no return.
I guess Buss caught the river card in the game on bluffs.
everyday he looses so many fans that were so loyal. Myself being one of them.
greed, talk and pride. thats what kobe is about... in that order too. |

My favorite quote from the post-practice interview...
Reporter: Kobe, there's been talk that you're unwilling to lift your no-trade clause for a trade to Chicago for x, y, and z... are you willing to lift the no-trade clause?
Kobe: I don't know what's goin' on, I'm not taking part in any of that... talk to management or my rep.
Probably a loose quote, but that was the gist. |

i agree, doesn't matter what FO says, there are 14 other guys on the team that you are letting down
we'll see tomorrow bryant's commitment (if he even plays) but if he's playing with the same lazy crybaby attitude then he'll get no sympathy from me
i have empathy for getting angry about the lakers FO and what they are doing or did do, but you can't just let down 14 other teammates like that
doesn't matter how bad they are, they are out there playing and competing, and there's bryant, geting paid 10 times as much as the next player just going through the motions just because HE won't get a championship?
how about he bust his butt and help those 14 other guys get a ring too cause they aren't going to unless kobe helps them |

you already know whats going to happen tomorrow and for the next few games... he's going to play amazing and when the lakers start losing games back to back, he's going to open his cry baby mouth again.
what are the coaches to do? sit him down?
i know what to do. He wants to play right? he's a warrior right? we let him play a few games, and once he starts crying you sit his butt on the pine. let sasha or evans start... i know it's sad but they gotta show who is boss. it's not fair for the other guy putting his 100 percent to not play because of a star that is only putting out 50 percent.
you put him on the bench. play him until he starts acting stupid and then pull him and sit him on the bench again. From there leave him on the bench. make him want to waive his no trade clause. he's a compettitor and will want to play. that's the best way we can get close to fair value. if not, he just plays very very little for the whole season. lets see what kind of emotions he will go through THEN!
the guy HAS everything. a beautiful family, money, a nice house and a CITY AT HIS FEET! that's not very easy to say but its true. The lakers need to stop babying him. |

| yeah pj made some comments but the season hasn't even started yet, hold off on the premature criticism for god sakes. kobe i think will be as competitive is he always is, and if he isn't well you can talk then. but seriously, there's no basis for this right now |

| Considering that this is Chuck and everything he says the opposite happens I think this could be a good thing and Kobe stays. Like him or not he still makes Buss a very rich man which is pretty much all he cares about(besides catching tail). |

So..wait..the season started early?
I thought it was still PRE SEASON and Kobe hasnt had an opportunity to show why he is the best player in the game OR if he is not providing his usual effort yet?
I guess that vast intellectual Chuck has added linear foresight to his repertoire.
Stick to comedy Chuck ...thats why i like you. The minute your asked for your opinion i start questioning why your on television (especially next to the likes of well spoken Kenny). _________________ "The media's the most powerful entity on earth. Barkeley is a fickle moron. _________________ Kobe Byant has brought the Lakers three championships, 4 Finals in 5 years, carried an absolutely pathetic team to the playoffs in the loaded Western Conference twice and almost upset the so-called MVP, and has given us countless thrills and memories. If you are not a Kobe fan, then you are not a Laker fan, period. |
