Kobe Byant has brought the Lakers three championships, 4 Finals in 5 years, carried an absolutely pathetic team to the playoffs in the loaded Western Conference twice and almost upset the so-called MVP, and has given us countless thrills and memories. If you are not a Kobe fan, then you are not a Laker fan, period.

As a player I loved Barkley. But since his playing days ended, he's been bitter. Bitter because he never won a ring; Bitter because he never made the huge money of comparable players today; Bitter because he's lost millions gambling.
He's always dogging on Kobe - he even left him off the top 50 players of all time. He was the only one on the TNT panel that did not recognize Kobe. The other guys on the panel thought he was joking, but he was serious. Barkley lost all credibility in my book, and he thinks he is a great golfer. Have you ever seen his pathetic swing, he's embarassing. For him to dog on Kobe for his effort in the preseason also makes no sense. The only players in the NBA that care about the preseason are players trying to make the squad, or make a good impression on another GM who might pick them up after they are released. None of this applies to the best player in the game. Period.

I hope and pray that Kobe is a Laker for many more years.
