I don't know which is funnier how fake the shark is (Batman doesn't bleed or lose a limb) or the fact that no one was flying the helicopter.

Not to mention the fact that they just so happen to have shark repellent

Great movie but it really didn't live up to my hype. My fault anyways. But still a great overall movie. Ledger was so great as the Joker, I wanted even more of him. Even though we get a lot here.

I'm still confuse on a few scenes. Nolan gave us so much in 2.5 hours. I definitely need to watch it again. Probably why I couldn't have love it as much.

Damn, I can't get the spoiler tags to work. So don't read further if you haven't seen it yet.

Joker you know isn't dead. It f's me up even more now knowing he could have been in the third installment. That Nolan had already plan for it. But now Heath is dead, Nolan will have to do rewrite it all over again. Sucks because I don't want to recast him. Two Face I don't think is dead. So did they fake his death? Was TDK just a first half of the complete trilogy after all? We'll never know.

I'll weigh in more this weekend when some more of you guys have seen it.

^ Did you get that feeling during the first act that you KNEW what was going to happen? I felt so desentisized to a lot of scenes and punchlines because I've seen/heard them 1000 times the last few months. Then act 2 just blew me away setting up the finale. That transition in the film, from using all the stuff in commersials and introducing characters to really understand what they're all about blew me away. That's what made the movie so great, the character development that is. Joker and Harvey /Heath and Aaron Eckhart were AMAZING in this film. Aaron Eckhart REALLY REALLY surprised me with his performance.

Amazing movie. It didn't exceed expectations but it certaintly met them. I'm way to exhausted to write a review. I definantly will tomorrow. Few points

-Heath = my hero
-Aaron Eckhart= would have stole the show if Heath wasn't in the movie
-Maggie Glynhhal was TERRIBLE. Wow I actually missed Katie Holmes in this movie.
-Joker was goofy as hell during a few scenes. He was actually a lot funnier then i thought he was going to be. He's a GENIUS and twisted mofo though, i think i said oh $hi!!! in my head and outloud 20 times in this movie.

Great movie!!! I'm watching it again on IMAX with some other friends on Sunday. It's one of those movies where you need to reflect a bit upon afterwards to really appreciate what they did. It's the Batman brand at it's BEST

So true man. This movie is deep on many, many levels and you have to sit there are reflect on the complexities to appreciate, and even understand, a lot of what was being implied throughout the movie.

Wow, that's three people in a row including me saying it didn't exceed expectations for them...

Here's my small review for now.

Quote:
I just got back. I thought this was great all around. Seriously perfect acting. Heath WILL win that Oscar.

However, honestly I was disappointed a bit. I was just expecting more I guess and waiting for a climatic point, and IMO it didn't happen for me.

This is coming from a huge Batman fan. I've probably watched Begins more than anyone on this site. I WENT ALONE tonight to go see the film so I could have no distractions. I even listened to the score ALL week.

All that, it was a great movie.

The movie did not exceed my expectations either. I, also, agree with those who say it didn't have a single climactic moment. I felt the movie left the viewer, somewhat, to tie everything together themselves. This single flaw was large enough in effect to bump the movie down from a sure 10 to something closer to a 9 in my eyes.

You need to put those spoilers way down in your post. That could easily ruin it for someone.

*Semi spoilers*

Yes those were great parts, 18 wheeler was ok.

My favorite part was just the sonar vision throughout the floors. I just loved how they did that.

No, no, no. I didn't mean there weren't ANY; there certainly were. I meant there was no ONE event that I felt was the summation of the entire plot up to that point. I felt there was several build-ups throughout the movie that lead to several climaxes which all took away from the magnitude of the last one. To some, that may be appealing, but, to me, I prefer a film that builds to one epic finale. I don't really feel that was the case in this one.

Spoilers

TDK was a total different movie from Begins. This was dark. So dark, I felt depressed at times. TDK title fits the movie perfectly. Nolan put on his A game here. From the chase scene to the hospital explosion & to the rooftop fight at the end. You'll get your worth of admission here alone on the action scenes. Batman's combat scenes are much better than Begins. But I do realize Nolan made the Batman fights in Begin to show how sneaky & ninja like Batman really is.

The score was also much better this time around. Zimmer did a great job. You can hear the theme throughout the movie. But sometimes it was so loud, it got in the way of the dialogue. I couldn't understand Batman's voice at times.

The Batpod kicks major [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. You must edit this post prior to submitting.]. You'll love how it came to be & what it can do. Batman's gadgets are a bit over the top IMO. Especially how easily Batman can fight with the sonar vision.

The plot was a bit more confusion this time around. You really got to put on your thinking cap on here. Like the financial plot. Where the mob gave everything to Lao. To who was the mole in the cops unit. I sat there for over 10 minutes trying to figure out how the Joker got his hand on Harvey & Rachael. How Harvey got out of the hospital. What the Joker said to Harvey to do what he did. The ending scene when the cops were on the rooftop trying to find & kill the Joker. The surveillance/cell phone aspect I didn't get. Again, so many things packed into 2.5 hours. There's was no stop whatsoever. It doesn't stop to let you grasp what you just saw.

To those who said there's no climax. I'll agree. Nothing really ends. I just know in my mind this was just a first half of what Nolan had intended for. Joker & Two Face have to return in the third installment. But again, Nolan will have to rewrite it now since Ledger is no longer around.

In the end I wasn't satisfied because there was no real conclusion. This film doesn't end with a happy ending at all. It's like going to a buffet. You come in hungry. You get your satisfaction going through it. But in the end, you feel f'd up & have to give it some time to digest. It was too much to swallow all at once. TDK have to be my second satisfaction comic book movie off all-time. 2003 Spidey is still my first. Yes I know it wasn't that great but I left that feeling sky high & wanted a second right away. Probably due to the fact that I saw the prologue a gazillion times, saw too many clips, read many spoilers, saw the Joker dressed up as a nurse, Two Face's burnt face. Again, my fault & I should learn not to do it again.

The PG-13 rating is really pushed here. It is pretty dark. Much more than Begins. You shouldn't take your 9 yr olds to this. First off, they won't understand it. And if they're just in it for the action scene, they'll be satisfied here. This ain't all colorful & fun like Iron Man or Spidey. The Joker is a scary character. Don't buy them a Joker toy. They'll have nightmares.

I want to wait until more of you guys have seen it to really get into the meat of it. So many questions I have & don't know where to begin asking.

..............................................

DAYAM....just holy crap...

Iron man, hulk, hellboy, and hancock all should feel ashame they dared come out in the same summer at this movie.

that was freaking ridicisoulsy insanely.

I mean we basically got two films.

so much raw stuff was on the film I've even forgot some of it and had to be reminded by friends.

I mean dayam.

I will write a more indepth review later after I let it sit in but, simply put.

BEST COMIC BOOK MOVIE EVER.

It makes batman begnis look foolish.and coming from someone who had it #1 that is saying alot,
