why not blast him and make him a villian and get in his personal life they did to Kobe?

weaksauce.....

Hope Melo is okay and everything else. DUI is nothing to mess around with.

Well I'm sure they will compared to Wade and Lebron he's the red headed stepchild of the Class of 2003. I don't recall Melo getting a free pass from the media on anything whether it was for the tape of him doing pot, the fight at MSG, or this anytime soon. And he's involved with a pseudo celeb in Lala(MTV VeeJay) so this will definately get pub and criticism to the constant barrage Kobe faces? No it won't but it will definately get press Melo is a star in the league so it won't be buried.

I'm just glad he didn't kill anyone.

You know I always said that I prefer him over Wade and LeBron not really on talent but because I found them easier to take compared to Wade/Lebron . I think I'll take that back now. And of the three despite the media fixation I prefer LeBron out of all of them he has the brighter future and the worst thing he has done so far is a speeding ticket.

Doubt they will have it done in the playoffs maybe carry over into next season though. However I don't see them doing it to one of their stars even if Melo isn't a favorite of Stern's personally.

No doubt. If I had his money, I'd just hire a professional driver every time I went out partying. $20 for a cab or $200 for a hotel room beats $5,000+ for a DUI.

Carmello is the reason why his crew is getting VIP service and basically getting to live the high life. Why not have one of those moochers drive the car? Not like they were buying the drinks anways. Melo should just make it mandatory for one of his friends to stay sober for the night and be the driver.

But 5000+ is nothing for Melo. Just some more bad publicity for a guy who looked to be maturing, but obviously he still is just a young kid who makes awful choices.

one thing i don't understand is how Denver police don't arrest DUI suspects.

wtf is that about?

Obviously they are going to keep driving drunk until they get home or wherever it is they are going. plus...they are still driving UI. how stupid is that?

The thread title needs to be changed. He was arrested on SUSPICION of driving under the influence. Which is why it makes no sense for people to criticize and name call when the drug test isn't due for another 2 weeks. Grow up.

Normally I would agree about giving people benefit of the doubt but I honestly believe he was under the influence..

It doesn't matter whether you believe he was or wasn't. The way some people are carrying on like this is ridiculous since nothing has been proven yet.

What a disgrace to the league! Stern should set an example and suspend Melo for at least 3 games of the 1st round
