Not only did Jerry Buss say yesterday that he will not trade his "son (Kobe)" for any other players....
Quote:
Lakers owner Jerry Buss sat down to chat Sunday with family matters on his mind.

He dismissed the latest Kobe Bryant-Shaquille O'Neal feud as predictable bickering between brothers and said of possibly trading Bryant, who could leverage a deal as a pending free agent: "I'm not about to trade my son."

......we also have T-Mac saying that he will not leave Orlando like Shaq did, to join Shaq in LA to win a championship in place of Kobe.
Quote:
T-Mac can opt out of his contract after next season. But although McGrady conceded he is frustrated and wants to win, he said he wants to win in Orlando more than anything -- and more than anywhere else.

He wants to leave a legacy. "I don't want to go somewhere else where they've won championships, a place like San Antonio, where they've already won a title," McGrady said. "I want to do it in Orlando.

"Man, this is home. I want to be the first guy to bring one here. That's what I want to do."

And that would also shoot down theories of T-Mac fleeing to Los Angeles, where he might be able to join his buddy, Lakers star Shaquille O'Neal, and replace Kobe Bryant. If anything, McGrady is sensitive to how Shaq jilted Orlando and bolted after the 1996 season. He doesn't want to be remembered as a defector, and he could do something Shaq couldn't do by delivering a title here.

McGrady said he hadn't heard about a column written by David Aldridge of ESPN.com, in which Aldridge proposed a straight-up superstar trade: Kobe Bryant for T-Mac.

Aldridge wrote that McGrady's patience is running thin in Orlando, which could well be true. But his conjecture that the "relationship between young T-Mac and the Magic is, if not at the breaking point, bending much further back than a healthy one should" is fiction.

Aldridge wrote that the Magic are, in part, sick enough of "T-Mac's diva act in practice" to welcome his exit.

"Sounds like somebody trying to start something," McGrady said.

kobe's not going anywhere, unless he straight up demands a trade.

i hope that dr. buss' statement will put all this b.s. to rest. the lakers would be foolish to trade him and would never get equal value.....i read on espn.com that dallas would offer steve nash and finley for kobe and george........that deal is a joke and would never happen.

the only way kobe leaves is if he gets convicted and goes to prison (looking more and more unlikely each day) or if he leaves on his own by opting out at the end of the year.

lets enjoy this year and put all this kobe shizzle to rest..........peace
