each time you dont' play you get 40 pts...since you just joined..this season i think?..you'll get a lot of 40 pts for the previouse games that you didn't play.
which wil lower your 'yearly' scores.
but as for me..i don't really mind about my yearly scores..but i try to play every games.

When you miss a game, the rule is that you get 40 points added to your score automatically.
Since you missed all those games before and this is your first, those missed games count as 40 points-- that's what SMUnderground was saying.
Don't sweat it though! You can still make Good Calls of the Night and Week 
It's fun whether you win or not. Next season will be even better since it will be a full season. I thought of the game mid-season and so it started in January.
I'm sure we'll have even more players by then too.
