I haven't watched any games lately so i'm curious fellow Dodger fans. Are we getting runs because of good timely hitting or are we just stringing runs against bad pitching? Not sure since I haven't caught a game in a while, been knocking out early. Have to go to work in four hours whoo

.167 RISP w/2 outs
There you go. Our run producers have done horribly in the clutch....only Ethier has a respectable avg. with RISP w/ 2 outs. Only Kent and Kemp are doing well hitting with RISP. Only Kemp has a good average with runners on.
Hard to score runs consistently when you stink it up with runners on base. |

Nah....patience fellas. We have some young kids in key positions this year. Ethier, Kemp and Loney have been for the most part hitting in the meat of the lineup. With young kids, you never know what to expect......either they get hot and stay hot....like those young D-backs....or they get cold and stay cold....like us.
Baseball is a game of percentages. Even if you've got skills, you fail 70% of the time. The law of averages will catch up. We'll get hot. Our young kids will learn to hit with runners on. It take some time.
Let's hope the bad stretch doesn't last too long. I'd like to keep the D-backs within 4-5 games by the all-star break.
And yes, our vets need to step up. Andruw.......I am talking to YOU specifically. |

To be fair, he has been swinging the bat better, but im far from impressed.
Slappy McPopup fails just like the rest of the Dodgers.
Norma Glassiapopup already proved to be a liability at 3b and with the bat. He can draw a some walks because pitchers still treat the guy like a threat.
Kemp needs to be more patient. Only ONE walk this season, our best offensive player and all around talent, needs to show up at the ball games.
Russ.....god help him, his so bad at the plate right now.
Jeff Kent is lookin old he keeps fouling back pitches he normally could hit. Those are signs of losing bat speed which is critical. A liability at 2b but can still hit for some pop. I'd rather have Hu at 2b
Speaking of people with slow bat speeds, Andruw Jones. I dont really see him catching up to fastballs....and i noticed that in SPRING. I figured....well he'll turn it around....nope. Add on top of that, the guy cant hit the outside breaker worth a dime.
Overall Andruw is soooo bad at the plate, with recent games showing flashes of his old self.
Where else can i go with this rant of mines.....
I dont see this as Joe Torre's fault, for the most part his moves have worked out well.
I can tell his slowly losing favor with Honeycutt, as the other day Torre personally went to speak with Scott Proctor who was shaky. Grady did the same thing, and actually, hardly ever let Honeycutt talk to pitchers in 2007.
I hate Honeycutt, he is the worst pitching coach. I believe Loaiza or Bills....cant remember which....were slumping for alittle bit (if it was Loaiza, that whole time we had him) said that Honeycutt tweaked his delivery...resulting in disaster......worst pitching coach EVER
And of course Ned....what can be said? he sucks

what is happening to our team?
we need a shakeup
We're like top 3 in batting average and yet we're in the bottom 5 in runs scored. This is ridiculous
Our bullpen is very inconsistent and our starters haven't done their part either

And it doesn't help that we play in the NL West which has like goldmine of pitchers
Brandon Webb, Dan Haren, Big Unit, Matt Cain, Lincecum, Francis, Peavy, Young, Maddux and list gets bigger and bigger as the year moves on
