Furcal to undergo back surgery. Will be out 8 weeks. 
The Dodgers do seem to be getting use to not having Furcal in the lineup. But it will be interesting. Garciaparra will provide some offense when he gets back as he will be the shortstop. But at third base, i dont think Laroche or Dewitt are cutting it, ill give them some slack because they are young though.
Still the Dodgers are missing that power hitter once again. So unless we package some of our young players outside of Martin, Loney, Kemp, and Kershaw, and get another power hitter at third base or another outfielder, we will be waiting on Andruw Jones to get back and hopefully turn things around.

| Will the Dodgers decide to sign him again seeing how he's gonna' be a free agent soon? Would you? Obviously he's VERY productive, but the injuries are of concern. |

Garciaparra has been on the disabled list since April 26 with a strained left calf. Jones has been on the DL since May 25 with a right knee injury.
The All-Star duo started rehab assignments with Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday and played three games. Dodgers manager Joe Torre said they would both take Thursday off and fly to San Francisco, where the Dodgers open a three-game series against the Giants on Friday.
Garciaparra went 5-for-8 with an RBI and Jones was 4-for-8 with a homer and three RBIs this week with Las Vegas.
"They're both ready to go," Torre said.
Torre said Garciaparra would play some games at shortstop after Rafael Furcal opted for surgery to repair a herniated disc in his back. Furcal had the surgery Thursday and Torre said he's out at least eight weeks.
Torre said Jones called him Monday and said he was ready to play after Juan Pierre hurt his left knee in Sunday's game against the Angels. Torre told Jones to stay patient and play a few games with Las Vegas.
"Does he need maybe another 5-10 at-bats? We'll take our chances and have him do it at the major-league level," Torre said. "Physically, there seems to be no concern whatsoever."
Torre also said Thursday that Chan Ho Park (4-2) will start Saturday's game instead of Brad Penny (5-9), who's been on the DL since June 15 with a sore right shoulder. Torre said Penny would throw a simulated game in either Las Vegas or San Francisco and then make his return start some time next week.

Again the weight ain't the problem look at CC and Fielder.
I'm glad to have Jones back this gives us a strong outfield. And I want Garciaparra back cause Maza and Berrora suck.

Guys should give some slack to Andruw right now. He shouldn't even be back right now, he was suppose to be back in another 2 weeks so he is still recovering from surgery. Yes 4 SO's sucks miserably but i think he will come around in the couple of games. You guys gotta remember that striking out a lot comes with the territory of being a power hitter.
Also reports are surfacing that the Dodgers are going after C.C Sabathia and Jack Wilson. Rumored package will be AA P McDonald, SS Hu, and 3B LaRoche.
