Uggla should thank Cook and Tejada for preventing his error from costing us another AS game.

Come on NL!

Saito out 6 weeks with Sprained Elbow Ligament.
bang

So even though i posted the rumor about Huston Street, I think the Dodgers could go after Fuentes of the Rockies.

Most likely, Broxton will take over the closing role for now and will have a little audition, then if it doesnt work out, the Dodgers will be players at the trade deadline.

What new era? Almost every other year the NL or AL wins the WS. Homefield for the AL and all, the pitching in the NL is better than in the AL.

Ex-Dodger Hideo Nomo Retires

Quote:
Japanese right-handed pitcher Hideo Nomo, who won National League Rookie of the Year honours in 1995, on Thursday announced his retirement from baseball. The 39-year-old Nomo, who pitched two no-hitters in the US Major Leagues, announced his decision on his website, saying only: "Retiring. July 17, 2008. I announced my retirement from my playing career." He told Japanese media that while he wanted to keep playing, he could no longer pitch competitively. "I want to continue, but I don't think I can deliver a professional-level performance anymore. I believe many clubs think the same way," Nomo told Kyodo News.

Can't see why the Yanks didn't pick up Bonds... Dude could out perform Sexson without thinking about it.

Rumor Update:

Quote:
The Dodgers continue to have interest in shortstop Jack Wilson, though that pursuit went nowhere earlier this month. There has been speculation of an expanded deal in which the Pirates would ship Wilson and Bay to the Dodgers for a package topped by center fielder Matt Kemp along with prospects right-hander James McDonald, catcher Lucas May and shortstop Chin-Lung Hu.

- Beaver Couny Times

Quote:
Ken Rosenthal suggests that it would make sense for the Dodgers to contact the Rockies about a blockbuster deal involving Matt Holliday, Brian Fuentes, and Matt Kemp. Finances also are an obstacle for the Dodgers, who are under orders from owner Frank McCourt to make "payroll-neutral" trades, sources say. McCourt has denied that charge.

I'd do a Kemp for Holiday swap in a heartbeat, I hope something comes of the rumors
