Yea, yea, yea.
I wasn't around last night after I went to the game and witnessed us get rear ended in the 9th.
Dodgers fans were going insane when Kemp tied it and they were jumping around like crazy once Ethier drilled one off the CF wall. Sick game though, wasn't that mad since Lyon sucked both games and we won at least one of those horrific closing efforts by him.
I think LA will have the NL West lead by Thursday, Dbacks play the Cubs..wouldn't be surprised if we got swept.
Again, I wasn't here the other night (after we won) to start anything with you guys, if you go to the dodgerblues.com forum, I'm one of the only opposing teams' fan who doesn't talk talk sh-- or anything, I'm cool with them all(Chris24Young) _________________

Dodgers may be shopping LaRoche. Like i mentioned in a earlier post a couple of pages back, I expect LaRoche to be shopped. Along with Kemp, even though he is heating up and is getting comfortable at the leadoff spot.
A player i would love to have on the dodgers is Matt Holiday. He would provide the power we need since Andruw can get his head out of his butt. Adrian Beltre is another player to keep an eye on. Here are some updated rumors:
| Quote: |
| With Joe Torre's formal (and strange) announcement that Andy LaRoche will be starting all three games in Colorado, many have figured that that means LaRoche is being shopped. Perhaps. But Joe's other comments were just as interesting. "It's really been unfair to him to be playing off the bench," said Torre, hinting that LaRoche needs to play regularly somewhere. "Knowing the end of July is looming, we need to find out as much as we can about players." |
| Quote: |
| Dodgers manager Joe Torre has indicated a level of expectation that general manager Ned Colletti will make an acquisition by the July 31 Trade Deadline. "Ned has some irons in the fire," Torre said. |
| Quote: |
| Tony Jackson speculates that the Dodgers may be showcasing Andy LaRoche in an effort to land a proven bat at third base. |

More rumors:
| Quote: |
| Los Angeles' biggest need might be for a shortstop, because of Rafael Furcal's back injury. Could Bobby Crosby be a possibility? |
| Quote: |
| The Dodgers, who reportedly have interest in reliever Huston Street with closer Takashi Saito out for six weeks, have a scout at this series against Tampa Bay. |

| Now all we need is for Andruw Jones to not getting struck out 3 times every 4 times at bat and leaving a gazillion men on base. |

The Red Sox are deep in conversations with the White Sox on a trade that would send infielder Juan Uribe to Boston, according to sources.
Uribe is batting just .225 in limited playing time this season, but his three home runs are one more than all Red Sox shortstops have hit. Boston shortstops are 28th in the majors in runs scored and 23rd in RBI.
It's not clear who the White Sox would get in return for Uribe, but one possibility is Alex Cora, the utility infielder who has fallen out of favor in Boston. Cora's brother, Joey, is the White Sox's bench coach.
The White Sox want to rid themselves of Uribe's $4.5 million contract, perhaps in hopes of rekindling talks with Baltimore about second baseman Brian Roberts. If the White Sox could acquire Roberts, or another second baseman, they could shift Alexei Ramirez to shortstop and trade Orlando Cabrera, possibly to the Dodgers.
The possibility of trading for Roberts and then dealing Cabrera was first reported by FoxSports.com.
Chicago is still looking for a starting pitcher to replace injured Jose Contreras. They could try to deal Cabrera for Derek Lowe, although the Dodgers don't have much depth in their rotation and would be hesitant to part with him. |
=OOO Dodgers may make it to the playoffs, but they still are a below average team with what they have right now. |

The Dodgers were not a below average team to start the season. They had world series expectations, then the injury bug came and bit us in the butt and took Penny, Nomar, and Furcal. And recently Pierre and Saito. We have a young core of players, with Martin,Ethier, Kemp, and Loney but they are still too young to carry team riddled with injuries. _________________

Maybe Dodger fans did, but other than that nobody gave them a chance to be in the world series. Although the Dodgers have been brutally taken out of sync due to the injuries. |

Actually the only knock on the Dodgers before the season was the lack of power in the line-up. We were touted as making a nice playoff run but (as stated) the injuries really killed the rhythm of the season so far. This team still has time to gel and find away to get Andruw Jones deported to Somalia, Russia, the North Pole or even Atlantis. _________________ I "act" for free they pay me to wait. |

Every team's fans have world series expectations. But there was a lot of pre season buzz from around the league that there potentially could be a freeway series with the Dodgers-Angels. So it just wasnt Dodger fans, many people that arent dodger fans expected ALOT more out of the Dodgers, but the injuries have done a number on us, thank god we have a crappy division. _________________

Derek Lowe is having a much better year batting than Andruw Jones.
(DL) 0.195 BA vs. (AJ) 0.166 BA
Andruw, today...1K, 0/3 batting, 2 LOB.
Derek, today...0K, 2/3, 1 RBI
Come on Andruw, even if you close your eyes and just swing blindly, you can probably do better than that. |

| okay on a serious note, can any dodger fan tell me seriously why andruw jones is sucking so badly. i only saw on game and that was on saturday when jones struck out against the dbacks. is he getting old? getting fat? or does he just not have the motivation to hit anymore. do you think he was on major steroids? whats going on with this player. as i remember, only 2 years ago was andruw jones a conversation of being a second tier franchise player for the ATLANTA BRAVES. what happened to this dude? man, even Gary Matthews Junior of the angels is having a better time than of andruw. |

It's his approach at the plate.. It happened when he started hitting all those homers. His batting stroke was awful even though he hit all those dongs. His right knee would collapse almost to the ground....upper cutting the ball to get lift. Watch some tape of 3-4 years back and you will see.
We are now seeing the WORST of those bad habits of the previous 3-4 years. That compounded by age....slower bat speed and pitchers recoginizing the upper cut in his swing which has been much more pronounced than what it was when he was young...have contributed to his demise.
Colletti SHOULD have seen this or the scout who scouted Jones should have seen this coming. Look at last year's numbers........
The Dodgers brass thought they could correct Andruw........so far nothing has worked....in fact it's gotten much worse...albeit it's probably alot more to do with the mental aspect now than anything else.
Jones can't seem to correct his bad habits. I seriously doubt he will. It's not like he was that great of a contact hitter in his prime anyways.
Not a good contact hitter to beging with + declining plate mechanics = the Andruw Jones in Dodger Blue. _________________

It doesn't help Jones showed up at camp the size of Shaq. I took 1 look at him and say to myself, something ain't right here. Good to know he's only making like 18 million to sit on the bench...complete turd.
I do like how Torre sits his butt down thought, if this was Grady Little, he would have wavered. And Jones isn't coming out of it either. |

Wow, I can't picture Manny as anything other than a Red Sox player lately, he's gonna look weird in a Dodger uniform to me. I didn't expect him to be traded at all, surprising move. _________________ Weezy's Weemens
