Clublakers Policies and Procedures

Welcome to the one and only Clublakers. The following are CL's guidelines, set in stone for any and all members of the forums:

1) Swearing is prohibited. Your text should not contain a swear word or any variation of a swear word. Correctly spelled swear words will prompt the tag "[Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. You must edit this post prior to submitting.]". Fabricating a variation of a swear word in order to avoid the censors is, in fact, against the guidelines. This includes using symbols, or other methods, to replace letters. However, a full line of asterisks is allowed, such as "*****" to replace a swear word, as long as it's not repeated ridiculously throughout the post. No exceptions.

2) Flaming is prohibited. Hate the game, not the player -- in other words, do not make personal attacks on other guests/members. Anything that falls between calling someone an idiot, to racial slurs and/or sexist remarks...it will be considered a personal attack. Posting "hate-filled comments" (such as calling out a particular sex, orientation, or race, for example) will result in warnings as well. If you feel as if you are being flamed by a member, please do not respond, because it only places you in the same position. Instead, contact a staff member via PM, even if you can't find one online. We will deal with the situation accordingly.

3) Illegal file sharing is prohibited. If it is illegal somewhere on the planet, then it is illegal here. We are not an outpost for music and warez. Even if the content is questionable, this rule stands; we do not have the time to go through and verify legal downloads. Examples of this would be sharing mp3 files, copyrighted videos, or anything not considered freeware.

4) Maximum signature size is 468x100 pixels.

Also, only one image is allowed in your signature*, with a maximum of three lines of text, and no member quotes. Advertising/promoting products and/or other sites will no longer be allowed, unless you are affiliated with ClubLakers. This includes both text links and image links. No exceptions.

*If you do not use the three lines of text, you may add one 468x20 userbar below your first image.

If your signature breaks the guidelines, you will be asked to remove it (via PM). You have 24 hours to remove your signature after the PM is read. If you decide to ignore the request, your signature privileges will be cut to just text.

5a) Excessive baiting will not be tolerated. We understand that this is a Lakers-based message board, but at the same time, we have to respect all fans who register here at Clublakers. Also, it's absolutely possible to bait other Laker fans, especially those that are fans of individual players. These incidents fall into the same category.

5b) This includes the act of addressing groups of members here as well. Refrain from using terms such as "[player] jockers" or "[player] fanboys." Acceptable uses of this are "[player] supporters"or "[player] fans." Please be tolerant of other opinions on the board. If you feel a member is trolling, please PM a moderator instead of resorting to personal attacks.

6) All member or staff problems are to be resolved via the PM system. These are personal and do not belong on the forums. This also applies to any problems you may have on another message board; please don't bring them here to discuss.

7) Spamming will not be allowed at Clublakers. If you have any questions dealing with site promotion, contact the administrator. Clublakers members do not sign up to request information concerning other message boards, so please respect their decision and keep the spam off the forums and out of the PM system. Clublakers affiliates are allowed to promote their site in their signatures. All other sites are not allowed.

8) Nudity, sexual content, or any other inappropriate material is prohibited. When posting pictures of other males and/or females, there should be an appropriate amount of clothing; no thongs, and nothing that is see-through. Discussions promoting the use of drugs, for example, are considered inappropriate and will be removed, followed by a warning.

We welcome opposing views from other fans as much as from Laker fans. Please welcome them in.

Violation of any of the above rules will result in a warning. A second offense will draw a final warning (a second foul). Three fouls and you're suspended, for a minimum of three days. After your suspension is up, you have three more fouls before you are permanently banned (six fouls total, you get the picture). If you decide to re-register, your IP address will be blocked from viewing Clublakers...and if this isn't enough, you are subject to being turned in to your ISP (Internet Service Provider), where further disciplinary actions may be applied.
