my quick rundown:
Nintendo: Sucked, they flipped the bird to all of us fans
360: So far offers the most. Some silly new family games but they're offering a whole lot of genres
Sony: In progress....but they have yet to show anything. Oh, hey Resistance is showing

why did they waste our time talking about the PS2? I also find it funny how they used stats stretching from 1995 or including the PS2...just a whole lot of stuff like that
All they've shown me is Resistance 2, and i don't really care for LBP
And their exclusives are slowly fading away, so there wasn't much to make me buy a PS3, again
And about Nintendo, they made it easier for me to put off buying a Wii even longer  atleast until they roll out another Zelda game or something to that effect

I'm disappointed in Sony really, they didn't show anything special, at least not to me. Yay, more downloading of movies services, yay more tech demos. You'd think they'd learned from Madden, Motorstorm and Killzone that people don't care about tech demo's, we want real gameplay footage, and if you don't have any I'd rather not see anything. The games we knew about already look good, but no surprises. With all that said I'm still glad I own a PS3, most storage, blu-rays, still most of the games I want. The 80GB $400 PS3 is a good buy for those that don't have one though.

Thought it was a decent showing from Sony. I am glad they didn't waste our time showing to much on games we already know about. Would have liked to see some release dates on some of the games though. MAG Overall I would rank
1.Microsoft(FFXII even though it doesn't mean much was still big news)
2.Sony
3.Nintendo
Basically the biggest news was FFXIII being available on the 360. Everything is was meh.

I'm disappointed with Sony's conference big time. well actually I'm more disappointed in Square-enix for taking FFXIII to the 360, I kinda find that like a slap in the face to Final Fantasy fans. Its no biggie though, they can make up for it with Chrono game exclusively for the PS3.

FFXIII versus is still exclusive also. Any FF fanboys will still by this for the PS3. Only problem I have now is, will it be watered down to conserve space to use less disc for the 360 version.

Your missing the point of my response. You claim gamers do not want to live in the past but my purpose in bringing up the sales numbers is that PS2's are still being purchased. So whom are the people purchasing PS2's if they are not gamer's? Sony has sold 120 million plus PS2's and they still continue to sell. Do you want them to just drop support for the system and all of its userbase?

To add to what's being said, Sony simply isn't like that dodgers, for better or for worse. They kept PSone going after PS2 was out because of the huge installed userbase and they keep PS2 going for the same reason. I think it was a huge slap in the face what MS did to Xbox owners around the time the 360 came out in that they just completely dropped support for the system. What about the people that couldn't afford a 360 and those that maybe just bought their Xbox? Again, some may have no problem with that, but that's one reason I like Sony, I know that when I get their system it will be supported for years and years.

E3 is an event about the future of games, PS2 has no place in this event. Thats what i was saying. All it served was to make Sony look better, since they lose out on every PS3 and the PSP is getting destroyed by the DS, they needed something to make themselves look better
As far as why PS2's sells, there are a great many reasons as to why, but that is besides the point
UPDATE: Weezy and TXLAKERFAN , I did not anywhere in my posts imply that Sony should completely discontinue the PS2. I did not argue for that at all

Is that your personal definition about what E3 is supposed to be about? Even if so he announced 135 will be released for the PS2 next year I believe.

They aren't exclusive to one system, they have the PSP too
but the PS2 only serves to make up profits where the PS3 loses at this point. I can gaurantee everyone at that Sony conference cared nothing for PS2 news
Let me ask you something, are you thrilled about picking up Madden for the PS2? or any of the other games that can be found on the PS3?
That goes for anyone else on this site who loves games.....are you thrilled over PS2 news and games? I honestly wont believe anyone who says "yes" unless they don't have next gen systems
