10/26/07 - Lakers vs. Kings, Las Vegas, NEV
7:00 PM Pacific | October 26, 2007
TV: KCAL/9, ESPN | RADIO: AM 570 KLAC
Coming In:
In their only meeting this preseason, the Sacramento Kings and Los Angeles Lakers meet tonight at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Lakers, without Kobe Bryant and Lamar will be shorthanded for the contest - a role they've become familiar with. Who will get the bulk of the minutes in place of Kobe? On the other hand, the Kings backcourt this pre-season, Mike Bibby and John Salmons - have been the team's backbone. Guard Mikke Bibby went for a preseason high 28 points on 11 for 19 shooting and 6-10 from 3 point distance Wednesday night. In place of troubled forward Ron Artest, John Salmons has had an excellent showing, averaging 12 points on nearly 50 percent shooting in just under 27 minutes per contest. If Sacramento's backcourt goes off, it will be hard for Los Angeles to pull of a win.
Projected Starters:
:
G: Mike Bibby
G: John Salmons
C: Brad Miller
F: Kenny Thomas
F: Mikki Moore
:
G:Derek Fisher
G:Maurice Evans
C:Kwame Brown
F:Luke Walton
F:Ronny Turiaf
Who to Watch:
Role players: how will the rest of the Lakeshow react o having nor Kobe or Lamar in the lineup?
John Salmons: he will receive starter minutes, what role will he play for Sacramento?
Injury Report:
LAKERS:
Kobe Bryant (out): sprain to shooting wrist
Lamar Odom (out):shoulder surgery
KINGS:
Shareef Abdur-Rahim (game time decision): knee surgery
Spencer Hawes (out): knee surgery _________________

Why is Kwame starting? Why? What is Phil's problem with Bynum, what is his hangup with this kid? If it's mind games I'm really sick of it, just freaking play him he's our best Center on both sides of the ball. Sure Mihm might be more polished on offense and Kwame might be better on man d, but Bynum can do a little of both, give him the start. Kwame has ZERO offense you can't even TRY to go inside. _________________ Weezy's Weemens

Bynum would destroy Moore in the middle...

Kwame made an alley oop?
And there was Sky's favorite thing, a blown layup by Fisher. _________________ Weezy's Weemens

From the preseason interviews, the problem Phil has with Bynum is his defense. Mainly his rotations and pick and roll d. Thats the main reason Phil’s reluctant to start Bynum. Although, he’s clearly our best overall center. I’d start him. _________________

| This is hilarious. How the F do you blow a three on 1 fast break? At least we got to see Kwame's highlight play for the season already with that dunk. |

It would not matter who is playing center, this team has no idea on how to feed post players... _________________ March 21, 1999:

Damn Kwame went up high for that oop. Kwame could kill Moore problem is they cant throw an entry pass.
Gotta get the ball outta Sasha's and Fishers hands and into Luke's. run the offense through him getting it to the bigs. |

Wow Kwame cannot do anything right offensively. In fact he's a damn liability out there with his bad passes and missed catches. Derek Fisher didn't even want to pass to him on the breakaway because he knew Kwame would probably fumble it.
It's pretty clear who has to start, and it's Bynum. Farmar should get the nod over Fisher, but I don't mind him coming out with the 2nd unit so long as he gets more minutes than Fish. |
