Call me crazy, but Bynum may be the difference in this game. If they can establish him down low, I really think that will help.
I'd have a hell of a lot more confidence in us if Odom was playing. |
I'm not going to call you crazy. I believe Bynum can do really well, becuse Suns don't have anyone to guard him. But we'll have to slow the tempo down; otherwise - he might just collapse after 2. _________________

MASSACRE'S MATCHUPS - LA LAKERS @ PHX SUNS PREVIEW
Coming In:
Coming off 2 days rest, the Los Angeles Lakers travel to Phoenix for a Friday night matchup with the Phoenix Suns. The last time the two met, Phoenix eliminated Los Angeles from the postseason for the 2nd straight year.
Lamar Odom will once again be on the shelf due to shoulder surgrey, but the 6-10 forward was involved in a car accident Tuesday morning, which he luckliy escaped from, with only a slight concussion.
“They’re expecting to win a championship… and they’re a team that really gets under our skin in terms of knocking us out of the playoffs the last two years”. “We’re going to go in there ready to play with a chip on our shoulder and see if we can’t do some damage,” said Bryant, who gave the Lakers 45 points 13-32 field goal attempts in their season opener vs. Houston. Largly in part due to his sore wrist, Bryant missed 9 of 27 free throws that game.
“This morning before practice I made 50 straight. You get a gift of 27 free throws you’ve got to knock down at least 26 of those. I mean that’s a Christmas present if I’ve ever seen one,” commented Bryant, during a Thursday practice sesseon before the Lakers boarded a flight to Phoenix.
As every Laker fan vividly remembers, the elimination at the hands of the Suns was the beginning of a very long summer which Bryant started off with the statement of “Do something, and do it now,” directed at Lakers management.
Guard Steve Nash struggled in his last meeting with Los Angeles, as he went 5 - 15 from the field while commiting 7 turnovers on offense. Amare Stoudemire went to the line 21 times en route to a 27 point - 16 rebound effort. “I don’t know how you put Amare at the free throw line 21 times,” Los Angeles coach Phil Jackson said, “but we did.”
Stoudemire averaged 24.2 points and 13.6 rebounds in the playoffs last season versus the Lakers.
Look Out For:
Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles Lakers - Kobe plays big against Phoenix, look for him to come out firing early to give LA the advantage. Predicted Stats: 31 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds, 2 steals,
Amare Stoudemire, Phoenix Suns - Los Angeles doesn’t have anyone other than Kwame Brown who can stick with Amare, but once Amare goes out on the perimeter there’s no stopping his jumper. Predicted Stats: 27 points, 12 rebounds, 2 blocked shots.

Judging from their career averages - our starter might even score 50 points on Phoenix! _________________

I would love to win. Unfortunately, I have a bad feeling about this game, especially since we will be playing in the Suns' home. Since, LO won't be playing, no one from our team will force Shawn to play some defense. This will result in him forcing it more in offense, killing us.
Our starting line up will be just like last games':
C: Kwame Brown
PF: Ronnie Turiaf
SF: Luke Walton
SG: Kobe Bryant
PG: Derek Fisher
As for the Suns:
C: Amare Stoudemire
PF: Shawn Marion
SF: Grant Hill
SG: Raja Bell
PG: Steve Nash
This can be really close game, much like at the end of our last game. Or, it could get pretty ugly in a fast way........for us.
I really want us to win, but at the end, I see ourselves with a final score of about: 114-103 (with us losing). Kobe will lead our team in scoring with about 43 points, or so. For the suns, Marion will probably lead them with a total of about 30 points.
GO LAKERS!!! _________________ |

Phoenix just had 4 tough quarters with Seattle . . . that can't hurt our chances. _________________

True.
However, Sonics are a young, running team. I'm not sure if we will bring back showtime against the Suns, but hey... maybe they will be tired, who knows? _________________

^ No way I want to try to out-run Phoenix. I was just hoping Nash & co. are tired come 7:30 tomorrow. _________________

I really hope we can keep up with them. We can't follow their fast tempo style, because we'll be killed if we do. We have to be focused on defense come tomorrow night.
Come on Lakers, you better fight for this one:

| Ronny has to attack Amare on the offensive end, like he did game 5. Jordan has to come in and really try to go after Nash. |

Trying to run with Phoenix is suicide. We need to grind it out, make our possessions long and tough. Hit them on screens, tire them out. We need to abuse their front line on offense. I;'m expecting Kobe to absolutely go off tomorrow night. He needs to for us to have a chance. Without Lamar and Vlad, there's really no one else who is accustomed to making shots outside of Kobe. Look at our starting line ups point averages. _________________

suns almost took a loss to a lottery team last night. That is going to motivate them to come out strong today. On the flipside, I hope they're tired from a back-to-back.
Only way to beat the suns is to play team ball. Kobe can't do what he did against the rockets. He has to pass and get all his teammates in the groove.
Hope now that Kobe ain't going nowhere, we get to start creaming the pants off everybody.

Does anyone have a streaming link for this game?
And if it's not too much trouble, could someone briefly explain what program i need to download, and where i can look for streaming links every game without having to annoy everyone by asking? _________________

Lakers win this one. Phoenix will be tired after traveling from Seattle to Phoenix and also, it's the first back to back of the season for them. They looked really rusty in the game against Seattle, so let's hope they don't have their legs under them on this one.
Keys to winning tonights game:
1. Dominate the Middle: Kwame, Chris, and Bynum must play well in the post on both ends. They have to pound it inside in the offensive end and get offensive rebounds. On the defensive end they must limit Phoenix's chances by rebounding and not allowing easy baskets at the hoop.
2. Defend the Pick and Roll: We all know Phoenix is going to run this every time there is a set play. The bigs have to go out and defend Steve Nash. There are going to be a lot of help situations, so hopefully everyone is on point and switches to their man accordingly.
3. Kobe has to be Kobe: In order for the Lakers to win, Kobe has to be Kobe. He's going to have to put up a big number tonight. It's going to be tough with Raja on him, but I think 40 will be enough, hoping that he gets help from others, to win the game.
Score : 104 - 95 Lakers win. _________________

I agree. When I run I believe I am the best on the court. More often than not this attitude is contagious. _________________ "Why can't America realize that falling in love with Kobe doesn't mean breaking up with Michael?" Rick Reilly
