Well, here we go again! Back-2-Back games vs. the Clippers. I suspect the Clipps will ride some momentum from last night's game knowing they were very close to beating this Lakers team with their run near the end...

- Trailing by 10 with just under two minutes remaining, the Clippers scored eight of the next nine points after O'Neal fouled out.

Here's Phil on the terrible Lakers' ending:

Quote:
"We had a meltdown mentally in the second half, we made too many mistakes down the stretch."

I think the Lakers will win again, but I hope they don't let the Clippers back in the game this time. Then again, this time the Lakers are the "home" team, so maybe they'll get some calls to go their way. man10

why dont the clippers move to the arrowhead pond in anaheim. Its a great building and Im sick of having 2 LA basketball teams, and I hate the fact that the Clippers play in our building. It shoudl be our home turf and no one elses. Clipper, plz get the frick out of LA!

Yeah, the game might be boring if it becomes a blow-out, but I want to see the Lakers dominate the whole game and not just one half or one quarter. jam2

Did You Know?

Since his return to the Lakers after his 2nd shoulder injury this season, he has led the Lakers to a 4-1 record. His numbers are MVP like since this time as well:

26.8 -- Points per game
7.2 --- Rebounds per game
5.6 --- Assists per game
45% --Shooting Percentage

He won't get it for two reasons:

The amount of talent on the Laker team (i.e Shaq)
MVP of the season, not second half or 4th quarter of the season.

Of course the leauge would never give Kobe Bryant the MVP. They've screwed a well-deservingly Jason Kidd and KG in the past.

But what I don't understand is this -- at the end of the season, if the Lakers advance to the #1 seed led by Kobe Bryant, and he keeps up these kind of numbers, why wouldn't he deserve the MVP - common sense?

It's like the same way with a game, look at the Magic game the other night. The first three quarters you could give the MVP to T-Mac who was tearing it up. But then, in the 4th quarter, in the clutch, Kobe Bryant took over and got the job done when it counted. What's more important now, they beggining/entire span of the season, or the end.

If you say the end, then you contradict yourself.

A little info...

The Lakers are going retro tonight, they are wearing the road blue uniforms worn by the 1965-66 Lakers.

sure would be nice to see a BLOWOUT tonight........im tired of watching the lakers play down to their level of competition. i thought we had the clips closed out on wednesday until those last couple of threes brought the clips back........

.....lets hope shaq goes for 40, and kobe gets a triple double, and the bench gets some serious playing time........

enjoy the game peeps! beer1

I say its going to be close all the way. The Clips are going to be mad about the other night, and are going to come in with momentum from the end of last game. But the Lakers will prevail in the end, due to them being on their home court.

Quentin Richardson isn't playing tonight. He is suffering from back spasms, this is very good news for us.
