Houston Chronicles:
Well it's official. The Houston Rockets have made two trades today. The first trade they sent out Bobby Jackson, Aaron Brooks, and Rockets 2008 1st round pick. In return they received Jason Terry. Reason they made this trade is because Terry is a shooter. He can score and the Rockets needed that. It was hard to see Aaron Brooks go because he has a bright future in this league but the Rockets wanted immediate help after another 1st round exit. The 2nd trade, they sent out Shane Battier, Luis Scola, Rafer Alston, Luther Head, Steve Francis and 2010 1st round pick. In return they received Allen Iverson. Iverson can score, make passes and is an overall leader. He will help Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming a lot. It was tough to give up those players but it was for the better of the team. With these trades, the Rockets are a force to be reckoned with in the West. Rockets think these are the trades that will help Mcgrady finally get out of the 1st round and even further in the playoffs. Rockets are now looking to add a bench in Free Agency.

Onto the Press Conference...

Critter - I would like to thank you all for coming today. As you know my now, the Houston Rockets have made two blockbuster trades in hope to win a championship. We are honored to have both Allen Iverson and Jason Terry on this team. I have talked to both Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady and they are ecstatic with these moves. Now Allen Iverson would like to speak.

Iverson - I am very grateful to be on the Houston Rockets. Rockets have a history of winning and I would like to keep it that way. I am glad to be paired up with Yao, Tmac, and Jason Terry. It should be an exiting season!

Critter - Now here is Jason Terry.

Terry - WOW. Just WOW! I am shocked about this trade because I thought the Mavericks organization liked me. But I am over that now and am honored to join the Rockets. I can't express how happy I am to play with Allen Iverson, Tracy McGrady. and Yao Ming. I think we can do dangerous things this upcoming season.

Critter - Anyone have any questions?

Reporter 1 - Allen, you look very happy about this trade. What will you bring to this team?

Iverson - I am excited to be on this team. I will bring toughness, leadership and whatever Rick wants me to do. If he wants me to come to practice, I will. Whatever it takes to win, I will do what the coach tells me to do.

Reporter 2 - Jason, you come from one winning team to another. How do you feel about that?

Terry - Well I think this team has more potential than the Mavericks. I do not see us choking and lose 4 straight games in the finals. I believe this team has the heart and talent to win it all.

Critter - Please stand up Allen Iverson and Jason Terry to show your new jerseys to the media.

Critter- Thanks for coming and remember, dont underestimate the heart of a champion.

Another trade has been agreed to today, and should be completed sometime tonight. Houston will receive a young player with very good potential. Gm Critter had to say this about the unknown guy... "well I won't say his name just yet but he is a bargain for what we got him for. He is a good shot blocker, defense is good, and he is a future Mutombo in our minds. Some scouts said if he full fills his potential, he will be Mutombo. So what better than him to learn from Deke, right?!"

Houston Chronicles:
Today the Houston Rockets have made yet another trade. They sent out a trade exception they got from the trade made last season and their 2nd round pick in tomorrow's draft. They received Cheikh Samb from the Detroit Pistons. Rockets believe with his mentor Dikembe Mutombo on his side teaching him what he knows like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar did to Bynum, Rockets believe Samb will become a great player in this league. He is raw but very athletic, quick, has good size and a good shot blocker. Some scouts projected him to be the next Mutombo. So what better than let him learn from Mutombo? Rockets plan on resigning Mutombo and Mutombo was quoted as saying "If the Rockets want to re-sign me, I would be glad to finish my career there. I think I can help Cheikh Samb in many aspects of his game. I would love to take the opportunity to help him." Tomorrow is the draft and the Rockets did not think anybody was worthy of the 54th pick. Gm Critter had a word about the trade and said this... "Samb is raw but he will continue to improve his game. In the beginning of last year, all his offense was put backs and dunks but he continued to work hard and is improving his range. He even made 3 of 4 jump shots in a game. He had a 12 point, 12 rebound, 11 block game last year too. We would love to re-sign Mutombo so with Mutombo on his side, Cheikh's potential is the world."

I think the most important thing here is that Deke makes sure to teach Samb his finger wagging technique

That will be hard but it will be mastered at some point in the season. Gm Critter had this to say... "The finger wagging is a hard concept to learn. The finger has a mind of its own. You must teach it. After you teach it, the wag only comes out when you show heart, determination and skill. At some point this season, Samb will have mastered the Wag."

Jarrett Jack plays very good defense and also has an offensive game. He will fit in nicely with this team."

The draft has just passed and the Rockets selected nobody. Instead they made a trade. They are now eying Free Agency in hope to sign a player that will put this team over the top. Free Agency begins for the big stars on the 27th. There has been noise that the Rockets may try to acquire one of the top 15 Free Agents. So stay tuned.

The Houston Rockets are just waiting. They are waiting until next week when they can go after the remaining Free Agents. The reason the Rockets did not go after any free agents the past 2 days is because they are superstars and the Rockets are not looking to have a star team. There would be a bunch of chemisty problems which would be a mess. The Rockets have their stars in Allen Iverson, Yao Ming, Tracy McGrady, and Jason Terry. Adding anymore would hurt chemistry. So the Rockets plans are just to add role players that will work with these stars. That is the latest news in Rocket land. It may change, it may not... only time will tell.

Rockets have made another signing today. James Posey has agreed to the MLE for 5 years. Posey is going to fill the void for Battier as the defensive guy who can make threes and a bunch of other stuff. The deal is for 5 years and for the full MLE. Gm Critter had a few words to say... "Posey is a underrated player. A guy who can come off the bench and play his role. He does not try to be the main guy. He does his job of coming in for defense and offense. He will come off the bench for us and play crucial minutes for this team."

age really does not matter since all I need him for is defense and shooting
bruce bowen is really old and still at the top of his game
posey is that type of player. He does not rely on dunking and stuff. And once his 5 years will be up he will be 36 years old. Same age as Bowen right now.

Houston Chronicles:
Carl Landry has just resigned with the Houston Rockets. The deal is 5 years for 25 million. Carl Landry was ruthless every game he played and even had a game saving block in game 3 of the first round series against the Utah Jazz. Carl Landry is only 25 years old and showed lots of promise his 1st season with the Rockets. He was a 2nd round steal. He did not receive much playing time the first two months of the season but the coaches had to play him since he was playing very good basketball. He will start for the Rockets and his job is to score and rebound while showing his toughness like he did this season. He is a good mid range shooter so he will fit next to Yao nicely. He finished the season averaging 8 points, 5 rebounds, and shooting 62% from the field in only 17 minutes a game. During the month of March when he played his most minutes of the season he averaged 11-5 with 60% shooting in only 20 minutes a game. So when he got minutes he produced. Rockets are looking to find a quality proven backup for when Landry goes to the bench.
