Caron Butler, 21 and 8 and 2007 all star reserve for Kwame Brown. Also, this sounds nice as well -> Caron Butler made the all star team, but Lamar Odom has not.
More ammunition for the Kupcake bashers. _________________ Bleeding purple and gold for life |

If Caron was still in the West, he wouldn't have even been in the discussion for All-Star selections. _________________

No really, he's had a great year. We've done ok without him though. Luke's been given the chance to shine and when Kwame's healthy, he gives us another big man to give us a committee that most teams don't have. Caron is a big-time player though. _________________ My Work-In-Progress Video List

Keep in mind the west is stacked with above .500 teams with all-star calibur players, while the east has many mediocre teams.
Still, Butler's numbers are great. But he's not comparable to Odom in that regard. There's more competition in the west. |

Caron is a great dude. He deserves the honor and he certainly worked hard for it over the summer.
But like BDG said, he wouldn't get that honor if he was out West.
Regardless, I'm happy for Caron. Kwame definitely could have come a bit cheaper than what we gave up, but what do you expect? Its Mitch!
I doubt we will ever be the overwhelming favorite in any Mitch deal. So far in theory the deals make sense, but to date Shaq and Payton won titles in Miami, Banks is on the hot streaking Suns, and Caron is an all-star. Meanwhile somewhere, Grant and Vlade are laying out on a beach somewhere collecting a check for their R&R, while McKie will soon join them.
All you can do is otherwise you'll either go crazy or grow old and bitter.
On the flip side, if it wasn't for Mitch's "great moves" I doubt Phil gets a strong chance of winning a well deserved and long overdue Coach of the Year. _________________

Odom is more valuable to the team than Caron is. Caron is one of my favorite players but we need that low post defense that Kwame brings.
This is what I did in NBA 2k7 though. Radmanovic, McKie, and a 2nd Rounder for Okur. A couple of weeks later, the Wizards offered me Caron for Okur. So this was my lineup
Farmar/Smush/Sasha
Kobe/Mo/Sasha
Caron/Luke/Mo/Lamar
Lamar/Cook/Kwame
Bynum/Kwame/Mihm

20 points 8 boards 4 assists and 2 steals won't even be discussed as an all-star in the west? _________________ http://youtube.com/watch?v=WLZ3uDDAP0c

Yeah, I think some clarification is needed. What I mean was he stayed with Lakers, he wouldn't put up these numbers, especially under triangle.
But it'd be still hard if he was traded to another West coast team. West is full of talented forwards(don't forget that Brand, Gasol, Randolph, Howard, Melo etc.. didn't make it) _________________ Whatever women do they must do twice as well as men to be thought half as good. His numbers would have gave him an honest shot as an All-Star in the West, and how can anyone say he couldn't put up those numbers here. I think he could, why couldn't he? Also the joke about his no defense, well ummm Luke is our starting SF now so, yea. Also if Kwame was still in the East he wouldn't be mentioned for the All-star team at all, healthy for the full half season or not. So yea we got Kwame and gave away an All-Star. _________________

Even worst ..if Paul perice, Redd,R. jefferson,..wasn't hurt and Joe Johnson's team had a better record..he wouldn't be an all star in the east.. |
