|
|
I'll be honest -- I have some doubts about opening this forum.
I don't want this place to become Lakers Discussion 2.
While y'all can talk Lakers in here, I (along with the rest of the staff) would really appreciate it if everyone who is invited down here makes a strong attempt to be active in Lakers Discussion.
If you guys really find it unbearable to join LD, we'll fix the problem(s) ASAP and get you guys to want to get back in there. I've already started a reloading process with the staff and we're cracking down hard on those who intend to make LD less enjoyable.
Please do keep in mind that as I'm posting this, LD is a bit tougher to manage than usual with the Kobe rumors, KG rumors, JO rumors and draft reactions.
I know it sounds cheesy, but we can make this work together. _________________

Knowing CL - it will be better than SkyBox. Was it called after Sky? It would be kinda ironic... _________________ Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see and you'll be alright.

I really appreciate all the work that you guys do on the site. Its unfortunate that things have gotten so out of control, but BDG said it well when he alluded to the chaos that surrounds Lakers rumors/trades.
We're the best franchise in sports, naturally, everybody in the world has an opinion.
I, for one, am quite grateful to have this opportunity to participate in discussion with others that value this organization and this sport as much as I do.
I do not post often in LD... in fact, I had pretty much given up on it. I would spend 1/2 hour researching, siting sources, and composing my posts.. only to have people skip over them altogether to quibble about some trivial detail...
ahh, but I digress. the Royal Room has reignited my interest in being here, I will try to post to other forums when appropriate.
Good to see alot of these old faces... _________________ "Don't ever forget that you play with your soul, as well as your body"

I would also like to emphasize that Lakers Discussion is not the only forum to keep up activity in - Open Court, NBA Discussion, etc. all need veterans. Sleepy - you used to post about hip hop in Open Court and I certainly hope you can still do so.
There are plenty of places where your strong posts are needed, not just LD. _________________

Laker discussion isn't booming right now, but there's like 10 threads that are staying at the top of the page and have some good discussions going on, many with multiple pages. I think the reason it's not booming is because there's no news, it's the offseason and the Lakers haven't made a move since Fisher or Mihm. Kobe is the only topic mostly because he hasn't made his stance clear and because he's playing for Team USA. I think LD is doing fine since the RR started though, you guys have done a good job being in both places. _________________ Weezy's Weemens

Fine with it so far. Gameday was maddening...people wanted to blame everything but Vlad/Luke not covering Peja. Insane. _________________

^ I agree, LD has been quite a bit better recently. Not nearly as much craziness.
Winning helps that tho. _________________ Sweet Daddy Barnstable's Bad A** Broads:

When I miss a Lakers game, I just go to LD and look at the topics. If they all start with "Trade XXX because he sucks", then I know the Lakers lost. If they all start with "Official XXX appreciation thread", then I know the Lakers won. |
