It's gonna be fun and all, but check the percentages this year.
Kapono 51%
Nash 47%
Gibson 47%
Hamilton 47%
Peja 46%
Kobe 35%
Kobe better get hot. _________________

what on Earth makes people think Kobe would finish dead last?
he could. but his 3pt % doesn't accurately reflect how good of a shooter he is.
most of his misses from 3 are due to a low shot clock, desperation, or just poor shot choice. Kobe has a great shot and his strength is ridiculous. i donno, i think he's just as likely to win as anyone else. _________________ Go Buffs. |

| When Kobe gets hot, he gets hot. He could do very well in this competition. How long will it take him to recover from the dislocated finger, though? That could be the determining factor in his performance in the competition. |

| The difference I see is nearly all the others are 'catch and shoot' 3PT shooters, their percentages are heavily influenced by the fact they take a lot of open treys. Kobe on the other hand takes them with the shot clock running down or with a man on him. I think he's got a decent shot if he can get the stroke down. |

I wish they chose Fisher instead. But I'll be rooting for Kobe. _________________

that's a solid solid lineup of players with Nash, Rip, Kobe, Peja, Gibson, and Kapono. It's got both the star-power (4 people who've been All-Stars!) and the pure shooting (5 of the 6 are shooting over 46%!!!!!). I'm excited for this one. I hope Kobe doesn't embarrass himself. _________________

Kobe's in it because he's Kobe and Rip is in it because he's an all star and asked. Neither have shot the 3 ball well enough to get in that way.
I don't think Kobe will win, but I'm hoping I'm wrong.
I'd love to see a Kobe vs. Nash showdown. _________________

I like the blend of guys in the contest. I'm looking forward to seeing how Gibson does in particular. He's a tremendous spot-up shooter from downtown.
Should be interesting. _________________

Its definitely gonna a super exciting shootout and ill be rooting for Kobe all th way but i believe that Peja will take it. |
Rips a great 3 point shooter. |
True, hes shooting 0.467 from the 3 point line this year. |
to be fair, he's only at 34% for his career. He's only had two good years shooting the three ball at an elite level: this year (46.7%) and 05-06 (45.8%). _________________

I am rooting for Kobe but I have a feeling Kapono will take it. _________________ "If I was Kobe," AI continues, "I'd have begged Shaq to come back, and if I was Shaq, I would've begged Kobe to come back. Ego ain't going to get you nothin' except an early exit." |

Are you guys really questioning kobe's shot?
If kobe gets hot for 1 moment...well lets just see who comes in second. _________________

Kobe won't know what to do with himself when he has a wide open 3.
When does that ever happen?
Maybe they can bring Ruben Patterson by to stick a hand in his face so he'll feel at home draining them.
(Worried about that pinkie finger though.) |

Rips a great 3 point shooter. |
Rips percentage mite be nice but he has only shot 90 threes this season plus hes less pure shooter than anyone on that list. Kobe will easily finish ahead of Rip. _________________

As stated before, Kobe either goes on fire and lights up the rest of the competitiors, or IMO, he finishes close to the bottom. I believe it wil lbe the first option. |

Kobe has a chance if he gets in a streak but I think his legs might get tired on him in the later rounds.
I'm picking Peja to win it.

If they have a "contested 3-point shoot-out", Kobe will win. |
