If Kobe is really going to be traded...
What about this trade:
Kobe for (signed and traded) Billups and Hamilton
Works salary cap wise if you resign billups for an amount betwenn 6,000,000 and 14,000,000.
Two decent lineups:
Lakers:
C - Bynum/Brown
PF - Odom
SF - Walton (resigned)
SG - Hamilton
PG - Billups
Detroit:
C - Webber
PF - Wallace
SF - Prince
SG - Kobe
PG - mid level exception
This is a trade I could live with (and Detroit, too).
The Pistons are a real team - no less without Ben Wallace.
But they lack a go-to-guy like Kobe as seen in this year's playoffs.
This way both teams could become championship contenders (again). |

this is a trade you could live with???? kobe for hamilton and billups??? are you serious?? maybe its because i still have a grudge against detroit for beating the kobe/shaq/gp/mail man combo, or maybe its because i dont want some pansy [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. You must edit this post prior to submitting.] wearing a mask on the lakers, or maybe ITS THAT KOBE IS 10X BETTER THAN BOTH OF THEM PUT TOGETHER. but this doesnt sound right at all.
i wouldnt ever do it.
ever.

| I don't think that's a very good trade for the Lakers. It's definitely not a championship caliber team in the west. If you're going to trade Kobe, I think the best two ideas are Phoenix and Chicago. |

Seriously, do you think that any GM would think that's a good deal when you're getting 2 players that may be products of the system? There would be far better packages out there. No reason to do that IMO. _________________
