Well i think it would be hypocritical of the MLB to celebrate Bonds 600th, 700th, 714th and eventually 756th Home Run..and then leave McGwire off the ballot.
So... do i think he deserves to be on the same Ballot with TRUE BASEBALL GREATS Cal Ripken Jr and Tony Gwynn?... no. Do i think his numbers say he should? Of course.
It's all a game of hypocrisy. They wont let Pete Rose in, and not only are his achievements outstanding, he played the game like few others....
Now they cant say that Mark or Barry or whoever else who pops up on the ballot Cheated for sure... but the public opinion is a vast forum and cases can be made for all sides i suppose.
The Baseball HOF is a joke IMO until they induct Pete Rose. _________________

AP polled 150 of the 575 Hall of Fame voters. Guess how the 125 who responded voted in terms of McGwire.
• 74 will not vote for McGwire.
• 23 will vote for him.
• 16 are undecided.
• 5 refused to say.
• 5 aren't allowed to vote by their employers.
• 2 will abstain from voting.
And I truly believe that if Pete Rose admitted he betted back in 1990 instead of making money for years off his "good name tarnished by the commish" and then only admitted it to make more money, his ban would've been lifted. I also believe if McGwire talked about the past and didn't look like a fool up against Congress, he would've had a shot a few years down the line. Now, it's probably long gone. _________________

Will he get in this year? No
Does he deserve too? Yes
His 500 HR's and brought back alot of fans after the MLB strike with his HR hitting. You have to have him in the HOF. _________________ Strikemode14 is the greatest.

Look Big Mac, Sami Sosa, Barry Bonds, they are all Hof's. Do u have any proof they actually cheated? NOPE do i think they cheated? YUP but u still need proof, those same guys could say ball players back then were cheating too. The thing that comes down 2 is those guys changed the game of baseball they revoloutionized the game, they made it exciting to watch, at first the media and MLB were riding there Joc's and now they're sayin u cheated? Wuteva they are all HOF's. _________________ www.Myspace.com/djvmoney84 If u guys ever need a Dj Holla @ Me Dj V-Money. www.DJVMONEY.com |
