What makes you think the child wasn't raised properly?
Regardless of whether the child was raised properly or not, It's very common for young children to lack confidence and self-esteem, especially at that age. Many children try to fit in among the other kids. If they are unable to, they may be ridiculed, or worse by being preyed upon emotionally/physically. This leads them to be insecure about themselves so they may start to gravitate towards whatever makes them feel better about themselves. Not only did this child seem like she was insecure about herself, she was viciously preyed upon emotionally by an adult.
To build someone's self-esteem up just to have it brought down with a screeching halt can be too painful for such a young child to handle. I don't see how that can be the fault of her parents unless you believe they should not have let her on myspace or you believe that she should have told them exactly what she was feeling when all this happened. |

Man you just do not have a clue and everyone can see that. I have read some of your POV's in threads and you are off the wall with respect to everything anf everyone.
I live about 25 minutes from where this all happened in MO. This c ase is completely disturbing on several levels and just sickens me everytime I think about it or hear about it. And living here I have heard about it literally 5000 times in the past year or two. The fact that a 47 year old fatass, and let's be honest Lori Drew is nothign but an ugly fatass would pick on and torment a 13 year old girl is pathetic. This was all over the fact that Megan Meier, the victim, decided she didn't want to be friends with Drew's daughter anymore so Lori decided to exact some sort of idiotic childish revenge by acting her daugher's age. She devasteted her self-esteem, even turned all of Megan's friends against her as they started lighting up her Myspace page with hateful remarks aftter Drew manipulated them as well. The girl thought her life was about to become a living hell and that everyone including her friends hated her so sadly she took her own life.
Not only is Megan Meier gone, but her parents also have split up over the strain while the Drew's continue to live ther lives like they did nothing wrong and nothing ever happened, despite constant attacks on their property and taunts from their neighbors. I hope Lori Drew gets the full 5 years in prison because she deserves no mercy an d everyone can see that!!!!!!

I've repeatedly said the woman behind this is a pos but this prosecution is a stretch and a half.
First, the case is being tried in California while everyone lives in Miss. Reason being is that Myspace is a local company here in Cali.
The lady is being charged with lying to Myspace, not leading this girl to suicide, at least if I understand the charges correctly. This sets up dangerous precedent. How many of you have put false information while signing up for some website? I don't know if I've EVER put all correct information. Sirronstuff could be brought up on charges.
I also don't believe that the actual trial and court system should be used as a punishment against someone who has no chance of being convicted.

Any responsible parent wouldn't let a 13 years old live on myspace. Case closed. I won't even argue about the rest because it's futile.

If I was the parents of megan and found that out. Someone would have to die..period end of story.
Either me or them. IMO the adult who created the account defaintely should be prosecuted. Something of the lines of soliciting a child or the very least stalking a child.

Who's identity did she steal ?
I think she should be punished, but not for what they're charging her for. |

| When you create a myspace you put some pics on it. If they're not of you and you pretend to be that person, it's identity theft. I doubt the woman had a page with no pics and stuff. |
