The last time ND won a bowl game, I was wearing hypercolor t-shirts and listening to MC Hammer's newest #1 hit.

Brady Quinn hasnt won a big game his entire career.

But it all changes this week...

Cheer cheer for Ole Notre Dame...

if USC's defense plays their best, ND will have difficulty. Defense is the key to the game, USC has it, ND does not. That being said, USC comes out on top 38 - 27.

ND's D is CLEARLY the critical object here. If they can't get pressure, it's bombs away.

Wasn't ND's secondary just as bad last year?

Brady isn't the poster boy for success that Leinart was, but ND has won some solid games under Quinn (but no bowl games):

2003:
vs. #15 Pittsburgh

2004:
vs. #8 Michigan
vs. #9 Tennessee

2005:
vs. #22 Purdue
vs. #3 Michigan
vs. #23 Pittsburgh

2006:
vs. #19 Penn State

I'm not sure what you're hearing my friend, but their defense has been their achilles heel for the past 2+ seasons. They were exposed to the tune of a 47-21 beatdown at home against the only real team they've played all year. Their entire defensive unit lacks the speed/athletecism to compete at a high level with the elite offenses in the country. (37 points to MSU?)

The only thing that scares me personally about ND is in the next few years when Weis can get some of his guys there, cuz right now he's simply overachieving with past coaches' recruits.

ND is going to be a very scary team in the coming years, especially with Claussen as their QB. But USC has their own batch of recruits coming in, Marc Tyler, Chris Gallippo, etc. Then with Mark Sanchez next in line for QB, Pete Carroll may be right that these teams may be the best that USC has EVER had.

Yeah, and hopefully with both teams annually being viable NC contenders again, we can again claim the SC-ND rivalry as one of the top two, if not the, best rivalry in college football.

IMO this game will decide who will win the heisman. If USC wins it goes to smith if ND wins it goes to Quinn and my heisman pick is Quinn. man9

Smith locked it up..Impossible to argue against an undefeated season, especially with that schedule.

That being said...Quinn will have a career day today.

Looking for another exciting game... one that can live up to last year's drama. Okay, maybe a little less... can't stand another heart attack like last year.

Quin could have 5 TDs and Smith would still win it. Especially since a ND win could possibly result in a Ohio State - Michigan rematch.

I'm not an SC fan, but I certainly can't vote against them, to me it isn't the smart vote. ND could very well win, but it's SC, I gotta believe that they will win because they always do.

This is my lone post about this game, win or lose. If you're on any top 25 program's team, and you leave WR open by more than 5 yards on a play from the 5 yardline, you'd better keep walking when you come off the field.

ND is a complete abortion so far.

0-3 on 4th down, and unable to captialize on 2 key turnovers. ND should really be winning this game right now, instead, they are down 2 scores.

Nice catch, I still predict him to be the next WR bust out of USC.
