England has got some great players. Gerard, Lampard, Cole but also some real sucky players. Their goalie has always sucked. Also David Beckham is a sissy. He has constantly regressed in Madrid (and the team with him). Rooney is among the most overrated players in soccer history. Its a talented 19-20 year old but some act as he would be the white Thierry Henry.

the next Pele? man10 man10 man10 man10 man10 man10 man10 man10

rather the next Paul Gascoigne

He is just soooooooo overrated. really its funny. The guy is a good striker but I would take Shewa, Van Nistelrooy, Trezeguet, Eto´o, Ronaldinho, Adriano, Ronaldo over him any day of the week and thrice sundays.

Of course he's not a scorer at that level...the guys you mentioned are goleadors, Rooney should play behind them.

But i think he's too much crazy to reach a great level...btw, he's young.
He's kinda like a british Cassano man10

Cassano is a great talent, too bad he is a head case man10

Rooney is not a head case as far as I know but he is not a top 10 footballer on the planet right now, yes he has shown glimpses of special talent specially since he is a physical freak. Next Pele? maybe the greatest soccer player in human kind history? Its like saying Eric Snow is the next Oscar Robertson.

Disrespect for Rooney disagree

I guess we'll have to wait 4 more years to see the genius. That is unless you watched Euro 2004, when he was only 18!.

Oh well..Atleast you will be treated to a month of Steven Gerrard. That should/will be good enough for you all.

man10

sorry. Steven Gerrard is a great player and I think a top 5 midfielder but it seems like you like Rooney too much....

Rooney will be a very good and even a great player but not a legend.

I dont like Rooney at all. He plays for Liverpool's most fierce rival and his previous club was Liverpool's 2nd biggest rival.
I just think he is gonna be an all time great.

Gerrard played as thr 2nd striker yesterday. Looked pretty good aswell.

While I am in this thread..Why the hell are Brazil playing some scrub team from a country that isnt even in the world cup?

just warming up I guess. World Cup teams won´t play eachother most likely because they don´t want to play direct opponents.

Germany sucked against Japan at home yesterday. a very lucky 2-2 after being down 0-2 bang seriously they played like crap-

You guys have Gilardino, who I think is a great player. Also Totti. I think Toni is overrated because he has had 1-2 strong seasons now. Vieri is done.

Yes, i'm kinda sceptical when a player starts to show his potential around his 30's (Toni).
But this year he has been terrific..

Gilardino is a great scorer, but so far he has to prove to be a starter in the national team.
When Pippo Inzaghi came back from injuries, he started to suffer a little bit in Milan..

Totti is recovering from an injury as well...he will be able to play, but i don't know in what physical condition.

Only 1 south Amercian team has won the World Cup, when played in Europe, since 1958.

I really dont see that stat changing.

Rooney the white people, are freakin kiddin me or what?
Yeah he is good, BUT Pele wasnt good, he was WAY above good.

I like the german team, yesterday they had some problems with Japan, but that was because they were tired from the tough training sessions, but from been down 2-0 they came back to 2-2 and so it end the the game.
Sure they wont win the World Cup, but this team is fresh, its young, it makes fun to watch them play.

Yesterday Poland played against Columbia, have u seen the goal from Columbia, i didnt but my parents told me that the Columbia Goalkeeper kicked the ball and it just went in. man10

Damn, somethin cant happen, its just unbelivable, not from that far out. man10

I aint so high about England.
