What are they going to do with allthose rookie draft picks? Now, they get White, too. Is this organizational suicide?
Not that Mitch and the Laker FO (Foolish Oddballs?) are doing any better.
Farmar is a terribly underwhelming pick -- but predictable. I guess the Lakers want tocorner the market on mediocre backcourt mates for Kobe. I guess Gansey is a lock now.
Kobe bet on the wrong horse (the Laker FO), and will be paying for it for a long time.

Considering they might not be in Oregon by the end of the decade, possibly. _________________

I completely disagree, I think Farmar is exactly the type of cerebral player that could thrive in PJ's system. Hes underated athletically and really has the ability to lead a team. Solid choice imo. Also I wouldnt be surprised if James White ends up in Purple and Gold as part of a package that includes Darius Miles for Chris Mihm. Lets just keep our eyes peeled. _________________

I disagree about Farmar. He is a very VERY inconsistent shooter, is ball-dominant, and TO-prone. How does that make him a good Tri fit?
AND, he will be yet another human turnstile on the perimeter.
Awful pick.

I think you underestimate his shooting skills, granted he didn't shoot a spectacular percentage from beyond the three (I think somewhere around 33%) but the mechanics are there. He also keen courage under fire, he was one of the few Bruins that kept it together in the National Championship massacre. Farmar is a winner and isn't afraid to mix it up with anyone. He has cojones. And that 42 inch vertical leap. :) I truely believe this guy will surprise alot of people and I will put myself out on a limb for Farmar. _________________

Thank you Danny Ainge for stating Farmar was a solid pick and is a Good Fit for PJ's system at least there are still some people that can see he did lead a team to a Final 4. _________________

Agree 100%^^^^^
I think way too many of us laker fans are sleeping on Farmar. I was ecstatic when they announced this pick, believe me this guy is a winner and he is only 19!! He came right into college and took a bruins team to the NCAA finals as it's leader. Had he come out next year he would have been a higher pick. I have watched Farmar play since he was at Grant High school. He does the little things that dont show up in the box score. He sets the right pick or boxes out, makes a timely cut. He is a good passer and he steps up big when the game is on the line. Besides Kobe the Lakers have no brain on the team. Now with Farmar he can bring the ball up and make good decisions-- the exact opposite of Smush. He also was key in helping the Bruins become one of the best defensive teams in college basketball last year. His man defense needs work but his team defense (doubling, trapping etc) is solid.
I think it is a good pick. This kid will be a player someday. |

The scary thing about the Farmer pick is maybe that's all they'll do to address the PG position, which means no Marcus Banks for the MLE. The excuse being they want flexibility for their 08 or 09 plan. You think Smush and Sasha are bad on defense, I've got news for you, they're like Ron Artest compared to Farmer. |

When I see some people on this board saying he is a leader and others saying he is not, some saying he is a good defender and others saying he has no defense - there are only two things that come to mind:
1. You all have no freaking idea
2. I'd rather trust the orgainzation _________________ Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see and you'll be alright.

yeah because kareem rush really panned out to be better than the all acc player of the year tayshaun prince...
farmar has the potential to be a decent starter. i'll give him that. he did have good workouts and wowed more than just the laker organization. however, the fact that defense isn't his STRENGTH, and the back court defense seems to be where we are WEAKEST, it is questionable if he was actually the best pick. |

tayshaun prince went to kentucky.........and therefore couldn't have been ACC player of the year. _________________

FIRST OF ALL PORTLAND PROBABLY HAD THE BEST DRAFT OF ANY TEAM IN SOME TIME.....THIER TEAM SUCKED, WHO THEY HAVE WHERE WAS UNDER NO CONSIDERATION, THEY WENT AFTER THE BEST PLAYERS THEY COULD FIND.....THEY GOT POSSIBLY THE BEST BIG, BEST SWING MAN AND MOST ATHLETIC SF IN THE ENTIRE DRAFT......3 GUYS THAT COULD START LONG TERM, IF IM PORTLAND I KEEP ALL 3 AND SHIP ALL THE BAD APPLES AOUT OF TOWN
FARMAR IS VERY GOOD PICK HE IS FAST WITHOUT BEING OUT OF CONTROL, ATHLETIC YET PATIENT, HE IS A GOOD FIT FOR THIS TEAM
MY ONLY CONCERN IS WITH FARMAR IN THE FOLD, THEY MAY NOT GO AFTER MARCUS BANKS _________________

i'm questioning why the C's wanted telfair, powe, and rondo.
i'm also questioning why the sixers wanted carney...they are the worst rebounding team in the league. |

Both teams are going to make moves.
C's have trade value with Rondo
Sixers have a good scorer with Carney and a couple of potential defenders with Brown and Carney. If they move AI, they can address the rebounding and front court problems. _________________

| I had the displeasure of actually watching the draft with 2 blazer fans... they had a fantastic day. They got my #1 and #2 on my draft board. You just had to love it when Minnesota GAVE Roy to Portland for no considerations. Also, when Pheonix SOLD their pick to the blazers.... unbelievable. Were we even trying to improve the team? Farmar does not improve the team period. We had 2 clones already and were expected to get Banks. If that is cancelled now, I will be livid... farmar is a bust |

Yea I was surprised too, its like they were donating to Paul Allen's charity or something.
And why does Minnesota take a player at number 6 only to trade him for the player taken at number seven 5 minutes later? |

I'm not sure. All I'm sure of it that the Lakers would NEVER get something handed to them like the Blazers were all last night.
Telfair for essentially Roy??? are you joking???
James White equaling 3 future 2nd round picks??????
Roy (who was picked at #5) for Foye (picked at #6) for NO COST!!?!?!
Sergio Rodriguez #27 pick for CASH????!?!?!!
