Writing a letter will be the same as the letter to John Black about the trade ideas. People will attack each other on the grammar, usage of words, and quality.

I suggest someone with an English major write the letter and everyone adds their name.

why cant we make an official thread have everyone post and then someone either print it out or paste it to another document and print it out..

it's better when the comments are original and not generic and just ONE mass comment

not to be a a jerk or anything, but the letter thing might not work, since he cant read right now. Once he gets the surgery and gets his vision back, then we should send a letter to him. We can do it right now, but someone would have to read him the responses.
I would like to put together a letter and I can send it to his gf.
We also made Brandon a fund.

Heard about this last week or so, but wasn't sure if they wanted news spread of it.

This is incredibly sad ... hopefully he can somehow pull through. Real Deal made great contributions here.

I wish him nothing but the best ... hope he gets better soon.

I had eye issues as a kid and had to have surgery on them when I was 5. One of my fears is that my sight would deteriorate sooner than it should. Must be an extremely tough thing he's going through and I wish him good luck when he does get his surgery.

Dang man, this is sad news. I just made my return to the site and I remember I said, where is Real Deal? Now I know the grim and horrifying news. This is truly awful, and my thoughts go out to him.

I second Darth's notion of the printing out of this thread for him to read once he makes a successfully recovery or have someone read it to him in the mean time.

My mother in law (much older than Brandon) had a similar episode less than a month ago.

She woke up one Sunday morning and had no vision at all. My brother in law had to drive her to the hospital where the doctors over several days worked to get teh retinopathy worked out with drugs.

In most cases, the loss of vision is reversible, but the Diabetes is the cause, and that will always be something he'll have to contend with.

I PMed his brother on OTR and heres what he said -

Quote:
Quote:
Hey dude, Im 2417 over at Clublakers.com and I just wanted to know how your bad your brothers eyes are, like how bad the retinopathy is. Thanks.

It's bad. Dr. Haivala is his doctor in Oklahoma City and he told him he's got aggressive, severe proliferative retinopathy (that's what it's called), and that it was too rapid to cure with laser treatments or medication or blood sugar control. I guess there are like stages of retinopathy and Brandon skipped all of the other stages and went to proliferative.
