All the rumors are just unnecessary... bout 90% of them will never have any credible source ... and it gets wearisome wading through all of them trying to get down to the truth.

The problem with rumors is that alot of the time ... even when you are getting it directly from a "Source" ... that source might not really have any firsthand knowledge of the situation ...

It's part of the reason that I'm even very skeptical of alot of these "so called" friends of the girl ... coming out with all this information.

Any person that's ever met her is probably trying to get an interview and some cash ...

It's funny because they accuse her of being an attention seeker ... trying to become a star... but 99% of the people in this country would do the exact same thing ... as shown by all these supposed friends showing up to do interviews.

Now I just had a thought ... and that doesn't happen often, so pay attention!

It will be fairly important if there is evidence of condom use won't it?

I mean, if that could be shown, it would mean something in my opinion.

Used a Condom = Someone had thought out the encounter at least a little bit.

Didn't use a condom = Much more likely to have been a rape ... or at least unplanned encounter. I mean really ... both Kobe and this girl would have to be smart enough to use one under normal circumstances I think.

Most of the reports we here ARE rumors...It's just that some are substantiated and others are completely unfounded. And rumors are all we can go off of for quite some time, so its ok as long as we check for credibility and thoughtfully evaluate them.

3) Both may need an edge going into trial

Granted, it may be likely the accuser is lying -- but kobe commited adultery! Sorry to burst any bubbles in this pro-kobe world, but he is not the saint or good guy you portray him to be. Wake up, people...feel bad for his wife and child, and pray for Kobe and the accuser (regardless of whether she is saying the truth or not.) They are the ones who need to be saved and change the lifestyle they are currently leading.

I read the article on ESPN that the rapist recommended; it was very good and fair I must say. But I don't think the case {assuming it does go to trial} is going there any time soon. Nor do I think the case really will boil down to who is the worst person.

What I believe to be crucial is: (1) evidence of vaginal bruising (2) if the there was bruising, is it possible to prove, or put doubt in the jury's mind as to whether it was Kobe-inflicted or self-inflicted.

If the case really does boil down to who is the worst person, then it would be wise for the defence to put up a lot of ordinary people who knew Kobe in high school - teachers, students, ordinary staff at the Lakers' organisation, and also put a lot of women who would testify that he wouldn't do something like this - ex-girlfriends etc. A lot of stars might alienate Kobe from the jury.

I think we already know the other dark stuff that might come out about Kobe: he's been sleeping around. If that is so, I don't see it hurting his case. It might kill his marriage but only adds to the idea that he did not rape the girl. I would be surprised if anything else than repeated adultery came out: after all he has been a public figure for 7 years.

However, more news about the girl won't help: she started out with a clean rep, and then stuff about being an NBA groupie, trying to commit suicide over a boyfriend (which shows her friends and family aren't as close to her as was first reported), hiring a top lawyer for a civil suit, and sounding vengeful about Kobe's press conference has messed up her image.

I for one would love to see definite confirmation of whether or not bruises associated with rape were found. Either the prosecution has such evidence, which would account for their confidence, and their need to call press conferences in which they say nothing of importance, OR they don't have it and had to carry the case to trial because of pressure from the Sheriff and the assistant D.A. that is related to the victim.
