Darn, im late for this discussion. Now there is too much to catch up on :(

so, i'm sorry os i repeat whats already said

Well, after watching this movie for the...10th time or so, I have come up with this solution....New EVERYTHING.

New actors, New director...just new. Tobey made an excellent Spidey for the 1st one...after that..no. You dont have to look at evil spidey to see tobey as a bad actor, but just watch the movie again. He just seems to lousy, too geeky. Spidey eventually becomes pretty cool, he doesnt stay a geek forever.

I feel like Spidey is frozen in time in character in these films

Raimi needs to go, I blame him for the Venom debacle and for letting the entire Parker-dance scenes to exist. So much for a "dark" film when you have Peter walking around dancing like a douche and stuff. Spidey had the full black suit on for what? 6 mins maybe? They should have had more evil spiderman..but NOOOOO they had black suit for 3 scenes (Discovers the suit and Black suit vs Sandman, Symbiote removal)

So, about Venom...He doesnt need much story, i just know he makes a cool battle scene...but even that they couldnt do right.
The solution would have been simple...Brock becomes venom, attacks spidey, end. It didnt need a whole lot of explaining. And the casting for venom was downright TERRIBLE. Personally...the worst of it's genre...ABSOLUTE worst casting job.

well thats i for now, i'd like to join your large discussion on this film jam2

they could continue this series

connors still has the symbiote in his lab so we could get a venom 2 or carnage

but the thing that strikes me, they said they will return somoene from 3, a villain. Somebody here said it wasnt venom, so whats left? Sandman no doubt, Harry is dead.

man the sandman storyline was good they shoulda just ran with that bang

venom was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAy rushedand just stupid.. even his origin,, rushed and unexplained...

if sandman's was allowed front and center his origin woulda been better too... running fall in a pit.. okay what kinda of labrotory doing DE molecularization only has a fence to guard it??? man3

Gwen.. Bryce Dallas Howard Gwen.. she's alright a little funny looking.. nothing too man13

and finally.. Harry DIED TWICE in that movie.. if he can die once and come back.. why not again? man12

Darth, I think the reason Venom pretty much sucked in 3 is because Raimi hates the character. I believe I read him say that, a quote or people close to him or whatever. I read he didn't want to put him in the movie and only did for the fans and quickly killed him off so that they're done with that storyline. I agree the film would have been much better if only focused on Sandman, good villain that they make you kinda like, or at least not hate because he's doing this for his daughter. All the Spider-Man villains so far have been very human and relateable and you feel for them in some way, they aren't just lunatics out to get money or take over the world and I think that's one reason the series has worked pretty well. The whole black suit thing was horrible, especialy 'dark' Peter. Apparently dark to him is mascara, emo hair, black clothes and night clubs, oooh scary. I think Topher was ok as Eddie/Venom, but the character was done pretty stupidly and treated as a side character.

Venom was portrayed horribly. Possibly Spidey's most dangerous foe, and he is basically relegated to a minor character. An afterthought. If done right, he doesn't need Sandman's help.

They had a good formula going just focusing on the main three characters and one villain. Then they add another who in reality should have gotten his own movie. Then they add a half-assed love triangle with the addition of Gwen, who is way too beloved a character to be used in such a tossed off way.

This movie would have been much improved if neither Gwen nor Venom were involved.

With that said, I still really enjoyed it. man10

those goblin bombs were VERY inconsistent

the first one that blows in HARRY'S FACE (Parker throws it back in their first battles) does ZERO damage to harry..i means ZERO

the second one blows up right off to the side of harry (emo parker vs harry) and screws up harry's face

the 3rd bomb thrown blows the side of Sandmans huge head

the 4th bomb totally disentegrates Venom symbiote and Eddie ( you see Eddies skeleton)

ya....nice job Raimi mad1

good points deuce .. also ALOT of the battle damage is inconsistent.. i mean parker has WALLS thrown on top of him and NOTHING.. NOTHING... he gets Jasoned' into a building and nothing.... harry get blown up and survives but bumps his head on a pipe.. and he's comatose man3

Here's the latest...
Quote:
Raimi Talks Spidey 4

Date: November 28, 2007

By: Ryan 'The Rican with the Irish name' McLelland
Source: CBR

I've always dug Sam Raimi movies - from the first Evil Dead to Spider-Man to For Love Of The Game to A Simple Plan (BILL PAXTON!!!). Then something funny happened...he made the ultimate horror movie of all time. It's called Spider-Man 3. It was a horrible, horrible trainwreck of a film and I really can't believe there are some out there who drank the kool-aid and actually thought the movie was decent. I've never hated a comic book movie more. I'd be chained down and beaten in the nutsack with a rusty nail attached to a piece of splintered wood while being forced to watch Tank Girl and Batman & Robin over and over again before I watch Spider-Man 3 again. Yes...that's how I really feel.

But you aren't here to listen to Ryan [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. You must edit this post prior to submitting.] about Sp
