venom is such a major villian and can create so much buzz
venom vs spider man as only part of the movie is really lame... why bother spending extra screen time on sandman or whoever if you got venom as one of the villians...
venom needs a whole movie against spiderman...
and also carnage would be awesome... _________________

The question: Is it real or is it an image from Spidey 2 photoshoped to look like a Spidey 3 shot? Here's what the folks at Ain't It Cool.com said:

This comes from M21, a source previously unknown to AICN. As such, he/she/it is untested and untried - but compelling none the less.
Harry, myself, and the mighty Cartuna (our consulting image specialist) have all gone over this picture extensively, and we're 90% certain it's a legitimate shot from SPIDERMAN 3.
We know a lot of folks out there are trying to [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. You must edit this post prior to submitting.] us with home-made pics just like these. If that’s what this is…well done! REALLY well done!
But we think it’s real. See what you think... |

So this is all real...or at least from what I sa of the little preview at Superman...showed him in this and part of hen he first becomes the spider-man venom thing and all that so...this is real... _________________

I don't think Venom will be in this movie. Eddie Brock is there, but the ending will probably be a cliffhanger where you see the symbiote go with Brock to set-up Spiderman 4. _________________

Holy Plot Twist! Big Big Spoiler from SPIDER-MAN 3! Read at your own peril!!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Some of you will not want to know this. It could be something small, but all signs point to this being a huge twist on the entire SPIDER-MAN movie franchise, one radically different from the comics. So, if you want to keep the surprise, for the love of all the movie gods don't read below. I wish I could go into theaters next summer not knowing this...
A few days ago WireImage released many pics from some more New York Street Shooting. We've gotten a ton, right? No big deal? Well... this shooting took place at the New York Public Library. Remember this is where Uncle Ben drops Peter Parker off before getting himself shot and "the classic" stolen by that no good petty thief.
Well, not only did they bring in Cliff Robertson to film a cameo as Uncle Ben, but they also brought in Michael Poppajohn, who played the no good petty thief. Here's where it gets interesting and spoilery.
Also on hand was Thomas Hayden Church. And the photos suggest he had no small hand in Uncle Ben's death. |

Coming Soon.net: J.K. Simmons talked to TV Guide about returning as J. Jonah Jameson in Spider-Man 3 and possibly making more sequels. Simmons says he wrapped filming two or three weeks ago:
TVGuide.com: What's your feeling on 3? Judging by the trailers, it looks darker.
Simmons: I think it pulls in a lot of interesting directions. Of course we're a long ways from seeing a final version of it, but my stuff, we had a lot of fun doing. I probably had not as much to do as I did in the second one and maybe a little more than I had in the first one, but from what I saw the new bad-guy stuff is once again going to top its predecessor.
TVGuide.com: In 2, we met Jonah's son, who in Spider-Man lore evolves into a villain. But they're not playing that card yet?
Simmons: Not yet. Hopefully there are plenty of cards to play for [Parts] 4, 5, 6.... I'll do a Spider-Man for every two or three years for the next couple decades if they want. That'd be all right!
TVGuide.com: Was there any talk of Spider-Man 4 on the set?
Simmons: Yeah, it got mentioned. In fact, the last couple of days I shot was at the very end of the schedule — we were doing some night-action scenes in New York — and [director] Sam [Raimi] was talking about it. It's not a done deal because everybody's deals, including Sam Raimi's and all the actors', was for three pictures. But he's certainly open to doing more. |

Here's something to check from time to time:
http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/spiderman3/blog/
They added a blog page to the official site. They'll update it with video, pictures, entries about the movie, etc.
So far all they have up is a brief intro the blog page by Sam Raimi. _________________

Hopefully, I can get to Comic-Con in San Diego this weekend. Sam Raimi is scheduled to be there with some footage of Spidey 3 (or at the very least a longer trailer)
Sam Jackson is scheduled for today to talk about Snakes on a Plane. |

Coming Soon.net: First, they introduced director Sam Raimi and producer Laura Ziskin who were a bit uncertain whether to show some new footage, since a lot of it was unfinished, but the crowd quickly convinced them to do so, and they ran an exclusive extended teaser.
It opens with Tobey Maguire looking into a mirror and opening his shirt to reveal a black costume, with a voice over from Aunt May, "Uncle Ben wouldn't want us living with revenge in our hearts, just like voices that take you over and turn us into something ugly." The daunting title card comes on saying "All Will Be Lost," and then the next scene shows Topher Grace as Eddie Brock walking through a church with a voice over of him asking someone "to do one thing for me. I want you to kill Peter Parker." (The movie sounds like it may be very dark, doesn't it?)
The rest of the teaser footage went by way too fast to describe in detail, but we did see Peter Parker in a black ninja-like suit, apparently carrying a sword (!), and there were extensive fight scenes between Spider-Man and Sandman, which weren't even close to being finished, but looked quite fantastic. There was also a little more footage of the new Harry Osborn/Goblin character, which Raimi explained later wouldn't be called either the "Green Goblin" or the "Hobgoblin," but it is Harry using his father's Goblin equipment to get revenge on Peter Parker. (So that's two people who don't like Peter Parker… not to mention the Sandman!)
The footage ended with Topher's Eddie Brock feeling something black and gooey hit his hand--obviously the symbiote--and it cuts to the very first image of the computerized Venom, who looks exactly like he does in the comic book if rendered in 3D, looking straight into the camera with his jaws wide open and drooling. If you're a fan of Venom, you're not likely to be disappointed.
Before the end of the panel, they showed a few new images of all the characters new and old. Kirsten Dunst's Mary Jane was surrounded by what looked like black webbing (though it could have been strands of the symbiote), Bryce Dallas Howard was simply sitting in a chair, Tobey Maguire had a very Superman-like pose with him ripping open the shirt to show the black costume. The two new villain shots were the most interesting, as Thomas Haden Church's Sandman had his back towards the camera with a small child holding a teddy bear standing behind him (which will probably be a big part of his story) and Topher Grace was in profile with the symbiote covering the back of his head and starting to spread over his face. (These pictures should be available soon to those who couldn't make it to the Comic-Con.) |

I was so bummed!!! I went all the way down there and I couldn't get in - the line must have had 3000 people in it. I offered $10 for cuts in the line - no takers...
But, I did get to see Jon Favereau and Brandon Routh - those Comic-Con shows are crazy!!! |

Here's a recap from someone who was at the Spiderman 3 thing at Comic-Con.
| Quote: |
Ain't It Cool News.com: Guys, Venom is [expletive] great... Let's start with him...
The footage opened with Topher dipping his fingers, crossing himself in a church. He looks completely distraught, eyes red... he looks like life has beaten him down. His voice wavers and he prays. He's alone in the church. He asks God for his help. "It's Brock, sir. Edward B-brock Jr. (stutters) I'm here... humbled and humiliated... to ask you for one thing... I want you to kill Peter Parker." Then a bunch of stuff happened that I'll get to in a second. The trailer ended with Topher and Venom.
There was a montage of quick clips of Tobey Maguire at the top of the bell tower ripping the black suit off him. "I have to stop it." The SPIDER-MAN 3 logo comes up and you think that's it... but then we saw some unfinished effects of the symbiote dripping down, falling towards Topher Grace who is looking up. One drop falls and hits his right hand, immediately wrapping around his hand. The bulk of the symbiote hits him and wraps around him, pulling him to the ground, totally engulfing him. A cut and the camera is low to the ground a good distance away. It Raimi-cams EVIL DEAD style towards the black bulking mass. As it gets near the mass, Venom's head whips up looking straight into camera, which doesn't slow down and ends up rushing into his mouth where it goes to black.
Venom's face. Exactly what you want to see. Big, big toothy mouth, bright white eyes. Looks just like the later McFarlane Venom face.
The design looks great, Topher was great in the church sequence as Brock... Count me totally psyched.
Okay, here's the rest. The footage started with Peter looking at himself in a mirror, he slowly parted his shirt revealing the black suit underneath. There were lots of quick shots, including James Franco chasing Spider-Man between the buildings, swinging what looked like a long sword at him. The majority of the effects were rough and unfinished and almost all the Harry Osborn stuff was very rough. If the rough animation is any indicator, he'll be wearing mostly black with some green around his hands and face.
There may be some spoilers here, so be careful.
I might be misinterpreting this, but you know the shot in the trailer that looks like James Franco had a pumpkin bomb lobbed at him? I think Peter throws it. There was a series of shots with voice over talking about regret and doing things you shouldn't. There was that shot from the trailer and a shot of Parker looking pissed off, mask off, but black suit on. He's standing in the hallway, Franco's on the floor and it really does look like he tosses the bomb. There's a shot later of James Franco being loaded onto a stretcher, neck brace on.
There was some Sandman stuff. Rough effects, again, of Spidey punching Sandman's face, part of his mouth flying off in particles (sand). The rough animation had his skeletal structure underneath, but that could all be for reference. There was also a shot of Sandman with his giant hammer hand whooping the [expletive] out of Spider-Man, sending him flying off camera... That's what I remember the most from the footage... besides that awesome Venom footage... The panel went on.... more on that in a moment...
THE PANEL:
- The biggest slip at the panel come from Kirsten Dunst, who just loves to spit out spoilers. She was asked by a young girl which villain would she enjoy being kidnapped by the most. Kirsten " | | |
