Hahaha. It's going to be hilarious. I really wish Kobe at tip off goes to Deng on the sideline and talks to him. That's going to get Bucher electrified.

Without Deng - it's a blowout. they don't have a chance.

Kobe with another good game, approaching triple double this time. Vlad and Odom will have a field day if given minutes.

Is Turiaf playing?

Should'nt Nocioni be suspended for the comments he made after the Clip game? He admitted that the flagrant foul he committed was in retaliation to Ruben's elbows. What's the difference of that remark to Kobe's when he forearmed Miller?

Do your job, Stu! Or you just watch our Kobe and no other? man2

It's pretty sad, that for third game in a row Lakers play against teams that don't have all their players in line. It's pleasure to see how lakers beat others, but when u think that houston didn't have T-mac for half of the game, or detroit didn't have chauncey you are not so happy with wins anymore. Would lakers beat pistons with billups in line? that's the question.

I think Duhon is going to have the same scoring game ala Sebastian Telfair.

Hey injuries happen. Last year we were playing 1/2 the season with 2 or 3 starters out and 2 or 3 bench guys out.

That's the nature of the game... Nobody felt sorry for the Lakers last season when we lost three starters. You bring what you have and hope for the best. I'm not gonna diminish victories, or over-state losses at this point in the season.

With that said, whether we win by 1 or 100, we need to take advantage of our home-court..... The Lakers need to set the tone early with this Bulls team, and take away any confidence they can come into our house and steal a victory jam2

Right. So STFU about we won against injured teams. Now we're on the other end of it and it feels GREAT.

A WIN IS A WIN.

Everyone on the Lakers wants to prove to Kobe, to themselves and to the world that the bulls' players would not be an upgrade compared to the Lakers' players. Bynum will dunk on Ben and yell 'Ship his ARSE OUT!!' Phil will bench Kobe and play Bynum for 48 minutes to prove the point (lol I am cracking myself up here). Turiaf will kick Deng in the knee and say "What? You wanted to play with this cripple?" With the score Lakers 88 Bulls 54, Kobe will call a timeout, ask Tanter for the mic and announce his intentions to stay a Laker for life.

Except that the bulls will not have to travel for this one. Be ready to see a strong team after last night win.

just imagine for a second the worst case scenario bang

Kobe would have been traded for Deng and Gordon (altho worser cases are possible)

tonight Deng would be out...Kobe would be facing Gordon and he would drop a double nickle on him...then turning to the Laker fans

damn that would be the most embarassing moment for me as a Laker.

thank god he is still rockin the purple and gold. jam2

Even if they don't have Deng tonight, they're still a hungry team and want that 'W'. I would not take this bulls team too lightly.

MASSACRE'S MATCHUPS - CHICAGO BULLS (2-6) @ LA LAKERS (5-3) [GAME 9]

Coming In:

The Lakers look for their first three-game winning streak of the season when they host the Chicago Bulls Sunday night.

In a Friday win over Detroit, Los Angeles overcame the downplay of Kobe Bryant with help from Lamar Odom who tallied 25 points & 15 rebounds, leading the attack of 6 Lakers who scored in double figures.

Kobe had 19 points, but made up for his horrid play through 3 quarters with stellar defense and clutch fourth quarter play. "When you're not shooting the ball well, you have to lead by example and make the rest of the guys understand that even though you don't shoot the ball well, it doesn't mean you relax on defense. If anything, you pick it up," he said.

The last time these two teams met, Chicago put the clamps on Bryant as they cruised to a 94-89 victory behind Luol Deng's 23 points & 12 rebounds.

Deng will miss tonight's game due to a lower back injury which he aggavated last night against the Los Angeles Clippers. "I'm not going to play tomorrow or Tuesday," said Deng, who will be examined by team doctors and possibly undergo an MRI scan on his back Sunday. "I would think I'm out until Saturday [against the New York Knicks]. Luol finished with 10 points in 27 minutes.

Chicago & Los Angeles split the season series last year,1-1, for the third consecutive year.

Massacre's Matchup:

Derek Fisher, Los Angeles Lakers - Derek Fisher will need to play a big role in tonight's game if to get LA a win. Missing Deng for the night, Chicago's attack begins with hinrich, Fisher will have to make an effort to slow him down. Predicted stats: 12 points, 4 assists, 2-2 3PT.

Kirk Hinrich, Chicago Bulls - Chicago needs a big game from Hinrich with Deng out of the lineup. Look for an ery attack on Fisher. Predicted stats: 18 points, 6 assists, 2 stls.

Darkhorse matchup: Team benches. The Laker bench has been a huge part of Los Angeles' victories. The performance of each team's bench will will play a huge role in the result of tonight's game.
