Yeah.Give the Rockets Credit. They are playing the Right way and Have rallied around there fallen Comrade Yao Ming. I wish the Lakers Could have done the same thing when Andrew first went down and now with Pau out. Say what you want, but the Rockets are looking like a championship team. Imagine if the still had Yao.Scary.Folks might be saying Rockets>>>>Lakers, cuz they actually Defend people or 48 minutes. |
you are bonkers if you think they can win a title they have no inside presence name the last team to win a title with out an inside presence
what the bulls well the had jordan and pippen
this team is all perimeter as we saw offensively and if we had our post presence we would have blew them out because we could have gotten some easy baskets.
we saw what happens when they are off against atlanta and if that had been us they were off against we would have laid them down
they happened to be on fire today from 3 and thats what beat us we played well enough offensively to win in the second half. |

not nearly as much as you make it seem. If people watch other MVP candidates and teams, they'll see that they are all human. No one is as "consistent" that you want them to be. |
No they aren't. But the one thing they do have is composure. You don't see them slacking off in transition D just to complain to a ref. You don't see them give up on the gameplan just to show that he's not going to get outmatched by some scrub making a 3 after Kobe makes a move. |
you don't see Kobe shooting 4/16 either. And TMAC is a MVP candidate as well. seriously, quit crying, it's annoying.
where do you live btw? we should meet at a gym somewhere, I want to embarrass you and then laugh at how you can't stay in front of me, or make your "layups" when I swat your elbows every time.
that was a serious offer btw. |
LOL real mature. Did I even mention that I played basketball well? Just cuz you're not good at sometime doesn't mean you can't criticize someone else. If that was the case, no one here would be able to say anything about any professional player. Nice logic. |
I'm trying to make a point. It's harder than it looks. No one would have done a better job in Kobe's shoes.
I can only imagine what you'd be saying about tmac right now if you were a Rocket fan. You'd be blaming it on Kobe's defense, no doubt. _________________

I've praised Kobe time and time again for his defense. He has the ability to be one of the best perimeter defenders in the league. Instead, he gambles too much and is in a constant whine mode. Sure, he has very little help defense. But on the flip side, Kobe is often trying to help out when the help isn't needed and is absent when the help is actually needed. |
I would love to see how you would react when you get hit everytime you drive and you have nothing to show for it.
Kobe's defense isn't at its maximum potential, I agree, though. |
I absolutely agree with you 100% that Kobe gets a lot of no calls. Really, I do see so many fouls. However, the difference between a me and Kobe (there are many trust me ) is that he is a professional. He should complain when the ball is dead. Go to the official, make eye contact, tell him/her that he got bumped. But for the love of god, please don't stay around in a tantrum while the other team is racing to score. _________________ "The thing that made push pops good is that you had to work for them. I definitely agree that it's harder than it looks. I know I've been critical about Kobe, but the main reason is that he hasn't played as intelligently as he could. For all I care, he could be 0-20 if he's getting good looks. I commend him for his great play. However, the shots aren't going down, Lamar was hot. Feed him the ball.
Kobe didn't play Tmac for the full game, but when he did, he did pretty well. It's just his help defense and his lack of a perimeter defense was taxing to watch. Not to mention his transition D. _________________ "The thing that made push pops good is that you had to work for them. IF YOU WERE WEAK YOU DIDN'T GET ANY." |

Hogwash. The cliche that defense is all about "will" and "commitment" or "energy" needs to be put to rest. It's also about ability. Some players have the instincts, quickness and endurance (especially lateral quickness) to defend well, others don't. The Lakers played about as hard as they can play today, and they played terrible D. We have some terrific scorers on this team, but not many defenders. That's just the way we're built. |

The Rockets obviously have the same 'hopes.' And it's not just "one freaking game" for them, it's the 22nd freaking game in a row.
Congrats to them for taking the WC lead. The showed why they deserve it today. Terrific defensive play throughout. |
yone who thinks the rockets have even a glimmer of hope at the title has not watched basketball for more than this year
the last wat 7 championships have featured shaq, tim duncan, and rasheed wallace some of the best low post scorers in the game
the rockets will not even make it past the 1st round.
nameant's right we aren't going for regular season accolades we have bigger things on our mind things that involve a gold trophy |

While I agree that Kobe shouldn't complain everytime, you act as if Kobe doesn't do what you are saying.. he does that, too.. to try to explain his view.. but when you are facing an uphill battle with the refs, you get that much more emotional.. plus with a foul, it's almost always other guys who have to pick up in transition.. not just with Kobe.. a guy who gets fouled driving and doesn't get the call is already in a bad position coming back as he is going forward.. it's a team game.. not just on the offensive end. |

Geez, whatever folks, we got our butts handed to us, bottom line.. Excuses, excuses, excuses.. They played better than us, they made shots that we couldn't make to save our lives.. We just gotta some MFers that can knock down a shot or five... And quit making every team's PG look like freaking Oscar Robertson and Magic Johnson rolled into one.. I did like Sasha standing up for himself and the team at the end, and I wouldn't exactly cry if Alston shredded a ligament or three, but it is what it is.. We lost, they didn't.. We move on to Dallas.. _________________

Definitely agree with you there. I haven't give Kobe enough credit for that and I truly apologize for that. I hope I don't send the wrong message that I'm a Kobe hater or anything. I love Kobe, he's myf avorite player. acutally when they played with energy in the third they effectively shut down the rockets then they stopped playing that hard.
defense is all about taking no possessions off and giving 100% on every play
something that is a skill but a skill that can be learned |

its a combination. the lakers played as good defense as the had for the third quarter and part of the fourth. they held the rockets scoreless for the first 6 minutes ofr the third quarter, and to only three points for the first 9 minutes. you need abiulity to play defense but you also need the will and energy. sometimes guys like farmar and sasha and vald can be some of our best defender getting tons of steals and easy hoops. other games they can't defend a fence. _________________

Rafer Alston has made his best game ever. Udrih and TJ Ford made it against Lakers too. We have a serious backcourt D trouble.

we need a defensive minded PG in the worst way its been forever since we've had a PG that can play any kind of consistent defense for a season.
farmar will never be a starter in this league he will always be a great bench guy we need a ron harper kind of guy to come in and we know the opposing team PG will do nothing for the time hes in |

I think I've calmed down from the loss and I'm looking forward to the next game. Hopefully we learn from these mistakes, but I have yet to see evidence that certain players we have can adjust mid season. _________________ "The thing that made push pops good is that you had to work for them. Seriously, we need to spend our 2nd this year on a defensive minded player. Who cares if the player can play offense or not, we just need someone who will catch the ball, decently pass, and play aggressive defense for the 15 minutes he's in. _________________ "The thing that made push pops good is that you had to work for them. Nobody denies it was such a bad game for Kobe today and he had a great opportunity to add to his MVP campaign.. but, hey, it happens.. like I said, no MVP player is actually as consistent as you want them to be.. it's just we are laker fans and we don't miss any of their games... but I do watch other NBA games consistently.. |
