Thanks to God, Matt Carroll, Raymond Felton or Mike Miller is not playing tonight against the Lakers. |
Matt Carrol is to busy being on blues clues. _________________

Agreed Stevenson is no scrub, And Im thinking more along the lines of Nick young or Roger Mason having a big night against us ... of course they are all NBA players and have to get scoring somewhere but with our luck it's always a guard
I hate when Kobe doesn't contest a jumper .. it seems like he'll fight over the screen and do the "dare ya to make that shot" and it becomes contagious, i've seen Fisher, and Farmar start doing that more lately |

I'm sure Mihm will get few minutes. Nothing big, but still... he is a legit 7-footer. That's enough to at least clog the paint for a couple of minutes. _________________

I hope LO is feeling better because we'll need him on both ends against Jamison tonight. _________________

Let me take a wild guess here. Just for fun:
Odom is still sick, will play.
Pau will play on Wednesday. _________________

We can beat the Wizards, guys, and it's because they lack exactly the personnel to take advantage of our biggest weaknesses on defense, unlike the Bobcats and Grizzlies.
- No quick penetrators/slashers who can finish.
- Not really a good zone team with lots of big guys to clog the paint....they have Haywood, but he sucks while Blatche is a poor man's Lamar.
- Caron is great, but a mediocre ball handler and even worse defender.
- Jamison is great too...on offense, defensively, he's weak.
What does this say about the immediate near term though? This game is a lucky reprieve, we get away with not having to play Pau for three extra days. But with six of the remaining nine matchups against Sacto, Portland, New Orleans, and SA, we better have our big help back to guard against the penetration threats those teams pose. _________________ Basketball isn't part of life, it is life.

This team has been a little weird lately. They seem to play down to the level of their opponents. So that means they will play better tonight, due to the fact that they are playing a team with a winning record.
PLEASE PLAY DEFENSE TONIGHT. _________________

Good guess. I think two days is enough time for a grown man to get over a flu. Ultimately though, I know being under the weather won't improve the chances of getting an aggressive effort from Lamar....at least on offense. Kobe can make up the difference of course, but I wonder if we're going to see the coaching staff try to throttle him and make him pass to bricking teammates again.
A repeat of that BS would be pathetic. _________________ Basketball isn't part of life, it is life.

They just said on Lakers Live no Gasol tonight. Said ankle is still swollen. How can a mild ankle sprain still be that swollen. He came back in 2 weeks in Memphis. I have defended the LA staff but not sure I can now.
This means another night of having to look at Turiaf and Walton, a disgusting thought. |

| I love team basketball too, but the rest have to chip in and do their part and make some shots. That isn't going to happen when Odom is sick and Bynum and Gasol are out. Hopefully Odom is back healthy tonight. |

| They haven't done the Washington update yet. I will post it when they say something for sure. By the way, they have said nothing about Lamar still being sick so apparently he is better. That is good news. Mihm sounded pretty good too. |

If I heard right, Billy Mac said Beckham is at the game. _________________

Yep. I can see it now, Ball rolls out of bounds. Kobe soccer kicks it over to Beckham who's sitting front row. Ref Ts Kobe up. Kobe complains. Kobe gets ejected. Suspended. And then fined. _________________

OT
People may hate Gilbert, but what he said tonight makes you realize how much of a team player he is and how much he wants to win. He said he is willing to take a paycut to stay in Washington so Antawn can get paid and the team is not in a salary situation that is a detriment to the team. He also mentioned how it is probably the last contract for Jamison so he can get paid and hopefully Arenas himself can get a second contract later on. _________________ March 21, 1999:
