Typical NBA series. Refs tried to make the series even, and they did.
Usually I'd say we win in 6, but I'm worried about the extent of Kobe's injury. _________________ Vi Veri Vniversum Vivus Vici |

Thats not an MVP game. Honestly, if your injured, dammit, Make adjustments to your game, dont just keep shooting long jumpers and expect to be bailed out by the refs. This has to be one of Kobe's horrible games in a while. He reminded me of the ball hog Kobe Bryant. Two of his teammates are hot, he is not, so he keeps shooting and takes his two teammates out of the game. Well DONE! |
Agree on every word. |
The fact that he is the MVP has nothing to do with it. He simply got selfish, again.
I couldn't agree with you more otherwise. _________________ "Why can't America realize that falling in love with Kobe doesn't mean breaking up with Michael?" Rick Reilly

It's hard to stay positive but here's my take. Jazz held serve, so did we. We have home court advantage, so at WORST we win in 7. We'll take game 5 at home and steal 6 on the road. _________________

No, Kobe cost us the game. He kept taking bad shots after bad shots... Phil even told Kobe to stop forcing shots and to run the offense. The Lakers went into OT because of Fisher and Odom not because of Kobe. |
How do you know Phil told Kobe to stop forcing shots?
Anyway, why would you put a player in isolations if you're not looking for them? That's the team's fault, not his. _________________ We are earth people on a spiritual journey to the stars. I cannot believe how many people are hating on KOBE right now...He's the only dude in the game that kept the offense together..his penetration, his sheer presence on the court created opportunities for everyone else...and he did all that with a bad back and some 59032 other injuries he doesn't let us know about...the man is the reason we got back into OT; yes he took some illadvised shots, but without him we wouldnt have even been this close to winning the game
laker fans are far too fickle-minded...one bad game by an injured kobe and let's burn him at the stake...give me a break _________________

Exactly. If Sasha had been the one taking those same shots in ISOLATIONS, who do you blame? Sasha or Phil. Honestly, was that necessary? The worst of some people comes out during high tension games. You show what type of fans you really are. |
half this board is full of fickle fans. i hate all these trolls that come on hte board and talk ish about the lakers. so kobe had a bad 2nd half...we lost. lets deal wtih it and move on. how bad did farmar play? how much did hte missed free throws hurt us? how much did fishers foul trouble kill us in the 1st half (imagine if we had him in) dont blame just one person for this loss.
gee if im phill jackson and im in OT ur not gonna run hte ball thru kobe? the nba's best player? kboe is known to turn it off and on...phil put his eggs in kobes basket and came up short. but this board is full of fake [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. You must edit this post prior to submitting.] fickle lakers fans. its a disgrace |
Yup im fickle
Watch and see the next couple of days and see a bunch of NEWS OUTLETS run with that story.
Yeah its on Kobe and he came up short
Bad on him
hell probally come through this series and make this a foot note to the season.
but if he doesnt......this will be the game that they will talk about where he tried too much while he was hurt.
hope he makes it right coz ill be the 1st to give him props _________________ Mitch Kupchak,Bob McAdoo, James Worthy, Rick Fox.........

I've always been a supporter of Kobe. I've always believe greatness is a double edged sword because your cockiness and confidence can either take you to great heights, or it can be your downfall.
With that said, Kobe has no excuse to try and step up today knowing damn well he was in pain. Before this year, I didn't blame him when he did this because we didn't have any other reliable options on offense. But tonight he had many options, yet he took it upon himself to shoulder the load.
With that said, pressure is still on Utah because we still have home court advantage. The series doesn't swing their way until they win one on our floor. |

Overtime Kobe blew it. Decided to not run the offense and made everything a one-one game. Where's that newly found trust Kobe had in his teammates? Disappointed Kobe with all his talent could not get Fisher (who pretty much brought us back in the 4th) or Sasha an open shot. (and that Gasol guy too)
But his back was hurt, yet that didn't seem to bother him when he was posing after his basket before the half.
No execution. Series tied. _________________ "Take my advice, I don't use it any way..." |

We are not a one player team....A lot of thing killed us today
-Fisher picking up 2 early fouls (I doubt that will happen in L.A.)
-Farmar's awful play
-Turable free throw shooting
-The horrific flagrant foul call against Ronny
-Kobe forcing shots when he knew he didn't have it in him to play
-Awful refereeing
-Turable defense by the Lakers. _________________ If we are all thinking alike, then nobody is thinking! |

I'm not upset that we lost cause yeah.. Utah is the best home team in the L.
Fish played well especially in the clutch.
Odom had a very great game, being aggresive and making 5 HUGE points.
Pau had a good game aswell.
It's really a shame that Kobe got hurt. Alot of players would'nt have played through that so kudo's to Kobe, that's how we know him.
One thing I think KB24 should have done differently in some critical points is go away from shooting 3's he knew he had a bad shooting night because of his injury I guess but why keep shooting so much 3's.
We'll win game 5 and then another sweet game in Utah.
GO! Lakers |

I believe that is how things will finish but it sure would have been nice to steal today's game considering Kobe hurt his back.
We certainly had a shot at it 'til Kobe got selfish.
I'm so enraged with him right now. _________________ "Why can't America realize that falling in love with Kobe doesn't mean breaking up with Michael?" Rick Reilly

We'll take Game 4, Utah played their best and Pau and the bench sucked hard. Not to mention the 18 turnovers we had, so we couldn't have played a worse gam, Utah couldn't have played a better game.
Lakers in 5.

another thing...we need to clean up on the boards..we gave Utah too many 2nd chance opportunities...that's what has killed us the most in this series...our guys need to will themselves to clean the rack more...odom and kobe are about the only ones that go after boards with a desire...no one else does that _________________

The 3 days break is very valuable from the looks of it, I just hope that Kobe's injury gets better and doesn't hinder him come Wednesday, else this series will really be up for grabs, with us having the disadvantage.
Time for the team to reflect and re-group and come back re-energized. _________________ "I've learned that I have the strength to change."
