This is the same old Texas every week. Entertaining, but they always comeback and win.

To many mistakes, raw QB, we ran the ball to cut it to 7 and then stopped running the ball mad1 . I can't believe we loss this game with the oppurtunity in front of us. Most of all I must apologize for my criticism Mr. Colt McCoy. I thought you could insert _______ at QB and get the same results, I was sadly mistaking obviously today.

Losing Colt really cost them the game. If he was in they'd win by 15, at the very least.

Didn't see the game, but it didn't look like the offense lost a step judging from the highlights and the score, but what happened to their defense?

Defense had to play against a short field. Can't blame them to much with the offense inability to control the ball.

Texas A&M - 12
Texas - 7

Well, its not as bad as losing to Oregon State, but a 3 loss season isnt pretty.

What happened TX?

^^Why would you even mention USC in the Texas thread? I swear, I'm starting to doubt your objectivity when it comes to USC.

man3

I was comparing losses, its pretty self explanitory. 2 weeks ago we were all discussing which teams deserve to go the title game (TX, UofM, USC, ect..) were we not?

If you say so. Texas has been out of the various championship discussions the past two weeks.

I have never seen a UT team as a whole perform so badly. It wasn't all the players fault either. Bad decisions by Mack, horrible play calling by Greg Davis as usual, and a defense that continued to get beat by the same play on there winning drive. As long as the A&M game has been on Fridays after Thanksgiving we have always looked horrible. I wish they would change it to the Saturday. I would go back to bashing Colt but it didn't look like he should have been playing in this game anyway. We have 2 good backs and one of the best O-line yet we continue to run sideways.

Well we are losing a QB as expected, Snead has asked out of his scholarship so he will be transferring. With Colt, Harris coming off redshirt, Chiles and Brantley(still committed) coming in we will still be fine at QB position, still young though.

Forgive me for being a bit uninformed on Snead TX, but what year is he and is he a solid QB prospect for another school? Was he a highly-touted recruit coming out of HS?

He will be a true sophomore. He would be a solid prospect for another school. He was highly regarded and was going to go to FLA had they not drafted Tebow. He was a 4 star recruit.

^Cool, thanks for the info.

I've been meaning to ask this as well: As someone who has probably watched every Texas game this year, how would you rate Colt McCoy? He seems like he's gonna be pretty darn good with all that talent surrounding him. Anything you especially like or anything you feel like he really needs to improve on to become a premier college QB?

Honestly Colt is pretty darn good, but he is in the wrong offense. The zone read set should have left when Vince left. Colt was very effective though and if he wouldn't have got hurt I think we would still be a one-loss team. The offense is more groomed for red-shirt freshmen Harris and incoming freshmen Chiles who are both dual threats. I just had a feeling all season they were grooming this offense for someone else. Colt will not be able to compete with either of those guys if they keep the offense as is because they are more atheletic than him. But I was more than impressed with Colt, I didn't have high hopes for him especially after TOSU game. But he proved me and the doubters wrong I want him to succeed and I think it will be hard to sit him down.

Brantley the kid from Florida is a stud! IMO he's going to over-take Colt McCoy, the kid is that talented!!

It may not be Colt he has to worry about.

Either school is a safe bet at this point. Who wouldn't wanna attend school in SoCal or Austin? It's amazing ND even gets solid recruits when you look at what other options are out there.

May I ask why is that your opinion? I haven't followed USC recruiting recently but Mack's recruiting class even now with the loss of Brantley is the most impressive I have seen in recent years.

USC is loading up unbelievably. I am not taking anything away from Texas because they have recruited some great talent in Tray Allen(OG), John Chiles(WR), Curtis Brown (CB), and Andre Jones(DT). those are all the 5 star recruits they got, and they have an amazing 4 star recruit pool as well. Right now Texas has 22 commits, which is putting them in the recruiting lead.

As for USC, they have recruited notable recruits such as Kristofer O'Dowd (C), Everson Griffen(DE), Chris Galippo(MLB), Marc Tyler(RB), James Wilson (OG), Martin Coleman (OT), and Broderick Green (RB).

As it stands right now, USC has 12 commits. The only way i see USC jumping Florida and Texas for the #1 recruiting class is if they get 5 more recruits. and it seems like after tmrw, it will be down to 4 more recruits since its being reported that Brian Price (DT) has de-committed from UCLA and is going to announce that he will be attending USC.

The four recruits that should put us over the top for the #1 recruiting class are:

Joe McKnight (Big play ability)
Deonte Thompson (4.2 speed)
Marvin Austin (#1 rated DT)
De'John Harris (#6 rated DT)

i think ones things for sure tho, USC and Texas will finish 1 and 2 in recruiting.

You do know that team recruiting rankings are not solely based on the number of commits you get.

I know that, right now on scout.com, USC is ranked third with ONLY 12 commits. If we get a couple more 5 star recruits then we will take over the #1 spot IMO,
