If you were to believe Jazz fans, the Lakers are luck to be #1 and the Jazz are so close to a championship.

Quote:
Okay...how can Jazz fans make a case that we can beat the mighty Lakers??

Hmmm....we didn't look real good against the Rockets. But that's okay. We played crappy and beat them, we played well for 3 quarters and blew them out. Fact is, we are a LOT better than the Rox.

I think we'll play well against the Lakes. They'll see some stuff they didn't see in this series: Boozer scoring inside, and making jumpers. Three pointers raining down like the golden showers most Laker fans are so fond of. Millsap demoralizing their scrubs.

And the defensive matchups!!! LOL!!! Who's Radmanovich gonna guard?? Is Vucajic gonna stay with Brewer? Or D-Will? Or even Ronnie Price? Boozer will BREAK Gasol. He'll make him...paut. I just see us scoring against MOST of the Laker's defenders.

So yeah, the Jazz have a lot of reason to think they could score 110+ against the LA-Las.

Q: But...don't the Lakers have good matchups to exploit against the Jazz, too??
A: Shut up.

Rockets are much better than Lakers even without Yao. They would eliminate Lakers in 5 games too.Lakers will pay for their first round matchup against defenseless Nuggets when they realize How much of defense Jazz learnt from Rockets. They will get shocked and outscored too!Jazz already play better offense.Let's just hope that Jazz will defeat Rockets in Game 6.

Also, they seem to think their stats means they are favored against us.

Quote:
jazz in 6.

kobe is gonna choke now that he has won the mvp. AK beat pau in eurobasket and has memo to help him. korver's gonna start hittin 3's and millsap is can tear up the lakers bench. -roll one for the jazz-

What is the Jazz scoring average for the year?

LOL, OMG, I believe Boozer will have a good series, but they think he will destroy Gasol, when Turiaf himself stopped Boozer. And last I remember werent we at Utah and had a 30 point lead until the fourth? And end up winning by 10?

If you only score ~69 points in a playoff game it's a pretty good sign you ain't going anywhere. man10

tell me, who's gonna stop KBMVP24?

If they throw kirelenko at him like Enver threw Martin, they'll just lose their best shot blocker.

Ronnie Brewer will be guarding him. He's a good defender but Kobe has the upperhand. That said, who knows what will happen? Maybe Kobe has a difficult time in the series but the Lakers still win.

It's happen before in the playoffs for superstars.

Either way, VladRad will keep Kirelenko out of the paint with his shooting.

Meh the Nuggets fans were just as confident as them before their series.

i agree.. teams play great against the lakers (with the exception of denver of course man10 ). notice how mediocre players step-up their game against the lakers then disappear against other teams. their mentality is "i have to be the best to beat the best." it's frustrating, but i mostly notice this with young teams.

The lakers are playing extremely well and are as cohesive as I've ever seen.

With that being said, I think a couple things must be mentioned.

LA may have a tough time matching intensity if game 3 when Utah finally goes home, so maybe it won't be a sweep. But I do not expect a long series like many claim.

LA is so on their game that they are focused on why Denver collapsed. Pretty soon they will realize that its the Lakers imposing their will onto teams and demoralizing them.

LA in 5.

The only caveat is that LA hasn't played in a week and I expect Utah to have an extremely good first quarter, while LA works out the kinks. Hopefully it doesn't cost them the game.

They have fans across the league wishing them luck against us. Even Rocket fans who claim to hate them, but hate us and our MVP even more. man10

Back in 2001, if someone said we'd sweep the first 3 rounds, I'm sure that person would have been called "stupid" too. I'm not ready to discount the possibility of a sweep. We have a great team that has amazing chemistry and executes very well. Now a sweep won't be easy, but it's still very possible.
