Critt. Not horrible defense really, he could have been a bit closer to him also though!

It was horrible defense... 4 seconds left.. you don't give a guy a clean open jumper :(

Preseason... doesn't matter really just hurts the ego.

In order to do that, you need someone that can jump from the paint to prevent the pull-up.

doesn't matter. I think ritt showed PJ somethng.

Farmar showed PJ that Critt is gonna get his pt.

Fisher showed PJ he's an old vet who could careless about preseason and defense.

Kobe ho hum.

Bynum just doesn't appear to have it whatever it is.

Mihm is a stiff who needs to get his ankle and legs back.

Sasha can still get hot , Vlad is ready

I'd be lying if I said this didn't matter to me cause it's preseason, so I'm not going to.
I'm actually kinda mad at that ending. man10

My impressions of tonight. Preseason games mean jack, if Kobe wanted to keep this game close in the first half he could have, but he doesn't care, you can see it on his face. He only put on a show for the paying Hawaiian fans in the 2nd half. Positives, Critt looks fantastic, he's fast as hell, he can pass, he can shoot, he can score. Why is Farmar even playing ahead of him, some stupid rookie heirarchy? Critt is clearly better than him and I wouldn't be surprised if he got most of the backup minutes as the year goes on and eventualy becomes this team's PG in the future. Yeah, one game I know, but this guy has talent, no question.

I don't hate Sasha as much with that hair, dont' know why, he looks like a man or something now, plus he is Mr. Preseason, he's great at this time. Vlad, still pretty invisible, but at least his 3's are going down, what a difference a healed hand makes right? We miss Odom's rebounding no question, we miss Luke calming things down and running the O. Sky was right, I mean DEAD ON right, Fisher goes under the screen EVERY SINGLE TIME, even when he doesn't have to, even when the screen is WAY behind him and he CAN go in front of it, it's hilarious. Mo dribbles better now, I hate Cook more than ever he plays ZERO defense and shoots the second he touches the ball. Coby Karl is redundant with us having Sasha, Vlad, Cook, etc.. I'd much rather have us sign a big guy like even Elton Brown to have an extra big body in case someone gets hurt. Nice story, but I don't see a need for him even though he is athletic, can shoot and isn't bad on d from what I saw.

Lastly, Bynum can pretty much get position down low whenever he wants, he pushes guys out easily. He looks way bigger out there to me, almost like a real center, I'm reminded a tiny bit of Shaq( not saying he's Shaq, he just kinda stands out like that above everyone else who is small), he's rebounding better and he looks stronger no doubt. BUT, he needs to freaking learn how to jump and slow down. I'm getting really sick of seeing him getting blocked or not jumping high enough and shooting gimmies short. I'm not gonna be able to stick up for this guy if he keeps playing stupid like that and not playing to his potential. He could get into position for more offensive rebounds and he doesn't, he should make those gimmies and he doesn't, it gets old. Yes, it's one game, but we passed on Kidd and O'Neal for this kid and he better make us not regret it.

Javaris looked absolutely amazing. Best rookie performance since ... (gulp) Kobe.

Kobe's rookie performances were generally horrible!

Yeah... when he had to play with how many all-stars? And he was basically given garbage time.

Atleast we know our bench has depth and Critt will be takin all of Mo Evans mins, Farmar cameback after a bad 1st half, Vlad got his stroke back and White Mamba took it to the hole. Wow but we still got alot of preseason games.

But Fisher, Cook, Mihm and Evans played terrible.

Hudson becomes Jerry West at the ends of games against the Lakers.

Critt looked very good. Bynum looks the same. Mihm looks like he hasn't played in two years. Rad looks focused.

Azubuike plays like Igoudala.

The score is not the most important, otherwise Kobe would be on the floor in the last minutes.

What is important, is what new comers can bring to us and how last year players has improved

Kobe is the same Kobe
Old Vlad is back and has shown why we sign him last year
Critt may be the steal of last draft
Bynum, not bad. Need another game to know where he really is

Sasha, it's only preseason

It looks like Critt and Jordan will take all of Fishers mins but once again it was only 1 game, Jordan didnt play that bad, him and Critt need to be on the floor at the same time.

You're not getting my point. In order for Crit to take away that three, he needed someone behind him to be able to step forward and contest his shot, so that Hudson can't try to drive past him and pull-up.

Evans, Cook and Farmar....three-headed care bare...

but I don´t care about the loss...its just the pre-season...but the defense needs to be worked on I guess.

Bynum looked good to me. He got beat a couple of times, but also well-contested a couple of shots. Thought it was a mistake to take him out in the last 4 min. Ronny made a bunch of mistakes that would have been magnified if it was Bynum, and unlike Bynum, he didn't make it up with the boards.

I forgot to say that Mihm can't jump for crap anymore. Maybe he'll get it back in time, I'm sure it's due to not jumping for over a year, but MAN he got swatted quite a few times and he barely even gets up for rebounds. I don't mean he doesn't jump high, I mean he can't jump AT ALL. No wonder Bynum dunked on him in practice, I wondered how that was possible.

4 seconds on the clock... by the time hud gets the ball it's 3 seconds.... Lets see, can hud drive to the basket in 3 seconds and get off a shot... or should i just give him a wide open pull up jumper. guess what critt picked.... neither and it burned him.

Exactly. Do you over play the 3 or the drive? In a perfect world you over play the 3 and rely on your defense down low. If he was up in his face and got burnt and Hudson had an easy layup, would that have been better defense?

So defense is still our biggest concern?

Giving up 41 at the 1st qtr, and giving away a wide open shot at the final seconds.

The shot wasn't wide open, but Critt wasn't in his jersey either.

As for the 1st quarter, let's keep it all in perspective. The Lakers haven't played for 5 months.

You forgot there's something called the midrange shot. Even if he drove all the way, Bynum would have been our best option, because it was clear Ronny didn't, much less Rad, have the length
