well, Lakers can play well against the Spurs, but can and will are not exactly the same.

So, frankly, I don't have a clue who will win, but - obviously - Spurs are a better team. We'll need to play some defense if we want to win this game.

We can win, if we play like we did in Phoenix (great on both sides of the court). We match up well against the Spurs. Keep TP in check and sustain Ginobili/Duncan and you've got yourself a W.

Spurs start off hot in the first quarter, Lakers second unit puts em back in the game in the 2nd and they go in down by 5. Spurs start to pull away in the 3rd, Lakers finish the quarter strong and the game comes down to the last possession in the 4th. Lakers by 2.

usually I always say of course the Spurs win...but in the last few seasons we have always been able to steal one in SA even with our sucky roster...

I definitely think we match up pretty well against SA and I say we get a chance to win...

only worry I have is...

Fisher vs. Parker yikes yikes yikes

Well, we know it can;t be worse than Smush vs. Tony. That's for damn sure.

Lakers by 7.

VS

AT (AT&T Center)

For the Lakers' starting lineup, I expect the following:

C: Kwame Brown (5.7ppg, 1.7apg, 1.00spg, 1.00bpg, 1.00TOpg, 7.00 total rebounds)
PF: Ronnie Turiaf (10.00ppg, 2.00apg, .80spg, .80bpg, 1.00TOpg, 4.60 total rebounds)
SF: Lamar Odom (18.00ppg, 2.00asp, .00spg, .00bpg, .00TOpg, 10.00 total rebounds)
SG: Kobe Bryant (30.4ppg, 5.0apg, 2.80spg, 4.80TOpg, 1.20bpg, 7.60 total rebounds)
PG: Derek Fisher (14.0ppg, 3.8apg, 1.75spg, 1.30TOpg, .00bpg, 1.80 total rebounds)

Top Key Bench Players for the Lakers:

C: Chris Mihm (5.5ppg, .5apg, .00spg, 1.00TOpg, 1.25bpg, 4.80 total rebounds)
C: Andrew Bynum (10.2ppg, 1.8apg, .60spg, .60TOpg, 1.40bpg, 9.80 total rebounds)
SF: Vladimir Radmaovic (11.3ppg, 1.8asp, 1.00spg, 2.00bpg, .00TOpg, 2.50 total rebounds)
SF: Luke Walton (7.6ppg, 4.2asp, .60asp, 2.20TOpg, .00bpg, 5.00 total rebounds)
PG: Jordan Farmar (7.6ppg, 2.6asp, .60asp, 1.00TOpg, .00bpg, 1.80 total rebounds)

(Rest of the Lakers team stats: http://www.nba.com/lakers/stats/index.html)

As for the San Antonio Spurs:

C: Fabricio Oberto (5.0ppg, 8apg, .17spg, .33TOpg, .33bpg, 3.80 total rebounds)
PF: Tim Duncan (17.7ppg, 2.0apg, .50spg, 1.83TOpg, 2.17bpg, 10.30 total rebounds)
SF: Bruce Bowen (2.8ppg, 1.3apg, .67spg, .83TOpg, .33bpg, 2.70 total rebounds)
SG: Michael Finley (6.3ppg, 1.5apg, .50spg, .83TOpg, .00bpg, 1.70 total rebounds)
PG: Tony Parker (20.3ppg, 5.7apg, 1.17spg, 2.50TOpg, .17bpg, 3.50 total rebounds)

Top Key Bench Players for the Spurs:

C: Francisco Elson (5.2ppg, .7apg, .50spg, .67TOpg, .83bpg, 7.30 total rebounds)
PF: Robert Horry (no stats available, yet)
SF: Ime Udoka (5.3ppg, 1.0apg, .33spg, .00TOpg, .00bpg, 2.00 total rebounds)
SG: Manu Ginobli (20.3ppg, 5.2apg, 2.50spg, 2.50TOpg, .83bpg, 5.30 total rebounds)
G: Brent Barry (5.6ppg, 1.0apg, .80spg, .80TOpg, .20bpg, 1.00 total rebounds)

(Rest of the Spurs teams stats: http://www.nba.com/spurs/stats/. Stats WILL vary after the Spurs-Bucks game on 11/11!!!)

Key Matchups for the game:

1. First of all, comes Duncan. He will really test what our big men are made of. Hopefully, they will somewhat respond and get him into foul trouble early.

2. PERIMETER DEFENSE. I can't stress this enough. Our "FO" needs to step up and bring us a real perimeter defender to help Kobe. Tony Parker and Manu Ginobli will really kill us if we can't (at least) slow them down.

The Spurs have always been a tough team for us to beat. However, I think we showed them last season how tough we can really play. The Spurs are very, very well known for their exceptional defense. We, as a team, will have to do so as well. We can't come into this game with DEFENSE not in our minds. Everyone in the Lakers' team will have to step up and give their fair part of production. With Odom and Kwame (hopefully, for his defense) back, we will have a chane to get out of AT&T Center with a victory...

GO LAKERS!!!!!!!!

I hate the spacing between Friday's game and the Spurs' game.

Anyways, I would like to see the same team work from the Suns' game but unfortunately I don't that will be the case against the Spurs. Kobe will need another monstrous scoring game for us to win. Also, Parker is going to be driving the lane all game long, so I think Phil should make Parker work on the defensive end by allowing Farmar to drive the lane.

This should be an interesting game. Probably a San Anton whipping of LA.

I was wondering when we were playing again. I see we are going to Texas. This should a true test to see how we are doing. I see us winning a close one.

acutally i dont think Kobe is gonna ddrop 40 ...i think it's gonna be a collective effort from everybody to win this game...we HAFTO exploit the mismatch that we have with LO...now that we have him at the 3....i think our 2nd unit is better than theirs for the first time in a while...they dont really have a back up PG...barry is manning that for them right now...even tho they got Ginobili off the bench...i think that now that we have Luke off the bench, we might be able to equal what they're bench gives to them...our bench has been producing for us lately too...remember, vlad played very well against SA last year....tough 4 game stretch coming up with 3 of the best teams in the L....lets go lakers! andddd we're FINALLY healthy for the first time in what 2 yrs?

Keys to the game if Lakers want to win:

1. Run the ball every chance we get. Even though the Spurs have a strong half-court defense, they aren't much of a transition defense type of team with their age. I don't think Bowen, Duncan, Oberto can keep up with our frontline speed. Turiaf, Kwame and Odom run the both ends very well.

2. Keep Tony Parker from penetrating the paint, he's deadly when he drives to the rim. He has that nice drop shot and if anyone helps, he leaves players like Bowen in the corner which will kill us if we help too much.

3. Keep turnovers to a minimum, we will get punished hard with this veteran team. They execute well with mistakes.

I wanna see Kobe guard Parker for a stretch. See if his legs can keep up. I'm not sure if Fisher is quick enough or a savvy enough defender to get it done on parker. Then again, Fish on Manu? scurred

We should have LO guard Parker and stick Fisher on Bowen. LO has the length to bother Parker's shot and he also doesn't have to play him close which would make it harder for Parker to blow by him.

As for Bowen, the only threat that he poses offensively is the corner 3 and I'm sure Fisher can cover that.
