At this point it's not clear what the team will do with the additional medical opinion. From Ariza's perspective, he's good to go and feels no discomfort or limitation of any kind.
One thing to note is that opinions from even the most highly respected doctors are subjective. If they prove to be incorrect, Ariza could have some serious long-term implications.
The final decision from Laker management should be made in the coming days. |
We appreciate the update!
You say Ariza could have some serious long-term implications if the two doctors are incorrect. What long-term implications are you suggesting? And what did you base this on? |

It will be interesting to see what the FO does. He seems ready as he's always out there before the games, but you never know with an injury like that.
I hope they clear him, because we could use his length and athleticism for this series. |

The Lakers' physician has been conservative as Ariza's CT Scan still shows a line on the bone which is normally interpreted as an unhealed fracture.
Ariza recently saw a doctor in Utah who postulated that the bone has indeed healed and that the line may never fully disappear. |
I think the Magic knew something we didn't... there were rumors of lingering foot problems, and this just confirms them for me... poor guy has all the talent in the world and I hope this hair-line doesn't keep him from realizing it... _________________

Glad to hear Ariza is really close to coming back.
However, with the amount of time he hasn't been on the court would you start him instead of Radmonivic/Walton? Or would you bring him off the bench? |

could he guard Williams when Fisher gets in foul trouble? Sort of like what he did against Iverson earlier this season? _________________

THE PREEXISTING CONDITION IS ON THE OTHER FOOT. Will this never die?

| It says he saw a doctor in "UTAH" who we are playing right now in the playoffs. For some reason, I just don't believe them. |

He'll need at least 10 days - probably more - to get back into game speed shape. |

| 10 minutes would be great. I'm not expecting him to come in and be our defensive stopper, and dunking on people. But get in the game for like 10 minutes, and get some easy buckets from slashing the baseline. Good tight defense. That's all I can ask for. |

"Serious" long-term implications? Serious is a relative term. It does not appear as if this report is based on any specific medical opinions or facts. Instead, the report appears to be vague speculation. |
