The Nike designer that helped design some of Kobe's line designed these in tribute to Kobe's off-season raining regime.

The mid-foot strap is for hard-cutting training like basketball.

those are cross trainers for sure. look at that strap, and they would be too low for basketball (only 3 lace holes)

I got the cross trainers. The black & gray ones. They are so nice. I'm wearing them right now.

I use them to walk around in and play DDR.
