This is the old one, as you all know the last page never showed up so this makes it easier.
New season, same QB. Different results (better) .
Personally i'm taking Saturdays off of work "school related" studying .
I'm not missing any games this season, I'm personally the most anxious over the FUCLA game. Time to tear those pansies a new one _________________

I hate rooting for LSU, but if it means we get to the National Championship Game to face those crybabies then I'm all for putting them in their places.
First thing's first though, BEAT THE VANDALS! _________________

i will start posting in this thread alot more, so i will be adding in practice reports i find, and other interesting news, fall practices started monday so now i am in SC mode, heres todays practice report:
| Quote: |
Today the Trojans put on the shoulder pads. They were not in full pads but it didn't seem to make much difference out on the practice field this afternoon.
Joe McKnight meet Brian Cushing. Pete Carrol said yesterday that they had seen Joe do everything but block, Well Joe got his chance today. USC in a pass blocking drill with the RBs and LB started with Joe meeting Brian head on the veteran Cushing trampled McKnight.
McKnight did sparkle again in the running drills today. had some nice run and is really complete back. CJ Gable still seems slowed by his hamstring. Emmanuel Moody continues to impress. He seems bigger and faster and has that breakaway ability.
I got there early enough to watch special teams. It was interesting because David Buehler, kicking off from the 30 yd line was putting the ball up against the fence. I heard Gable talking to Ronald Johnson, Joe McKnight, and Travon Patterson saying,"man we've got a kicker." Buehler wasn't giving them anything to run back.
Right now USC is running two strings on coverage teams and they are going to be great this year. I'll give you the names of the players later.
Carswell, Green and Tyler were dressed today but not in pads. Carswell made a beautiful catch in the corner of the end zone. Green and Carswell have a grace period from the Clearing house. Tyler was cleared
Will Harris was the defensive star of the day and really laid the wood a couple of times. He also had a pick but then fumbled and ended up running a lap. Kevin Thomas did not particpate again today.
Someone threw a ball at someone else today and Pete Carroll stopped the whole practice and he was hot. He said this is not the way we play USC football. He said it would have cost the team 15 yds and I think he dropped the r out of fricking when he said it. Pete's tough but in the best way.
Coach John "little Ed Orgeron" Morton has completely lost his voice from yelling. He's doing a great job with the receivers. They looks sharp. Booty continues to be on the money and i'd give Sanchez my most improved player from spring.
Alex Parsons is being moved to offense but I did not see him on the OL today. Charles Brown and Thomas Herring are vying for the RT spot because of Radovich's back problems.
There were so many good hits in the running drills today and some spectacular moves by the running backs. McKnight loses no speed when he cuts and he left Chris Galippo and the oldtimer grasping for air on one play.
Pinkard, Mays and Ellison continue to shine. Pete said yesterday that no he remembers why he said all those things about Pinkard. He said he's doing some cool stuff and I agree.
Everson Griffen is paying his dues but he gets right up and make a play. Stanley Havili and Luthur Brown got in a little tussle today. Actually Luthur just held Havili back with one hand while he combed his hair with the other. Luthur Brown is the last guy in S,Calif that I would give a shove. |

USC is so stacked again this year.
Question for everyone here, what do you think about current QB John David Booty? |

That's why they're installing a shotgun formation this year... probably for 3rd and long. _________________ WTB witty sig |

sorry i didnt get Thursdays practice report posted, i was busy with some family things. but heres fridays:
| Quote: |
Another chamber of commerce day in downtown LA. And another day of hitting on Howard Jones Field. I got there early again today and i'm still amazed as I watch the STs the power that David Buehler has in his right leg. He was 20 yards further than the other kickers. Don't let anything happen to Buehler. Hire security!
The new rule where you have to kickoff on the 30 yard line is going to benifit USC this year. Buehler is a weapon on the kickoff.
And the Trojans are going to have tremendous kick returners in Johnson, Gable, Mcknight and Patterson. You could also throw in Holland and Dynamite Desmond Reed. Whatever pair it turns out to be they will be good.
I spent a lot more time with the DL, OL, LBs and secondary today. I had a blast watching these guys hit. The blocking drill was run again today and McKnight got the second baptism. Galippo hit McKnight so hard Joe folded like a chair. Chris cockroached him.
Galippo dead bugged him, and McKinght was lying on his back with his legs and arms flaying around.Coach Norton was screaming, "welcome to the big time." McKnight is going to have a great year but he will also need time to develop like Reggie Bush did and have the Trojans create space for him.
Derek Simmons did really well in drills today. Christian Tupou and Kristofer O'Dowd are like nitrogen and gycerine. I love those twol The centers did a lot of work after practice on their snaps with Booty and Sanchez. The whole teams is putting in extra time.
Alex Parsons is one tough kid and did well in drills. Byers can really get down field and mow people down. When Baker and Jackson go at it one on one you can close your eyes and hear it. Gerald Washington continues to impress and I think he blocked a field goal today.
The special teams are really special on coverage. Thomas Williams, Rey Maualuga, Clay Matthews, Kaluka Maiava, Alex Parsons, etc. They were right on top of the PR in drills today.
Will Harris layed the wood on Jamere Holland today. Pinkard did a lot of work at corner today with Ellison and Mays at safety. He pressed Patterson and Johnson and had no problem staying with them. He has a tremendous burst of speed.
I was listening to Brandon Hancock on the way to USC and he was asked if this could be the best USC ever and he said absolutely yes. I don't know but it's certainly a team that's as deep in talent as I've ever seen. On defense there is no second team. You just have teams 1A and !B. That;s the truth.
Moody, Washington, Bradford, and Stafon Johnson continue to impress. Tyler and Green did not have pads on again today. Radovich is supposed to be out ten days. Havili is likes guns blazing and Jordan Campbell is a missle. He will play this year.
I sitll haven't seen Hershel Dennis and Reed is being used as a receiver. He has soft hands. Ausberry and Turner are really solid receivers. USC ran a lot of slants and seams today.
John "little Ed Orgeron" Morton still hasn't got his voice back and got blasted by Ausberry again in the pad drill. He should get a red cape and get out of Ausberry's way,
I'll write some more later. I stayed after practice and had dinner and picked up some good stuff there I'll share later. This team really had direction. When Pete Carroll got there about 4:00pm everything just ramped up a notch. It's going to be awesome in full pads tomorrow.
Will Harris is the Sandman. He puts receivers to sleep. He's going to send a lot of receivers to the dentist this year. |

heres the recap of Sunday's Scrimmage:
| Quote: |
It was a day for the defense during the first scrimmage of the fall tonight at the Coliseum. Yes, there were some offensive highlights but for the most part we saw what every Trojan opponent is going to see this year, a defense that attacks all night and gives little ground to the opposing offense.
Here were the two-deep line-ups for the scrimmage:
1st Offense
Booty, Chauncey, Turner, Miller, Baker, Byers, Spanos, Rachal, Brown, Davis, Ausberry
1st Defense
Jackson, Moala, Ellis, Moore, Rivers, Maualuga, Cushing, T Thomas, Mays, Ellison, Pinkard
2nd Offense
Sanchez, Green, Walker, McCoy, Lewis, Malu, Howell, Heberer, Herring, Thompson, Johnson
2nd Defense
Morrow, Simmons, Spicer, Matthews, Maiava, Galippo, Williams, Joseph, Jones, McCurtis, Wright
The opening series featured a three and out by the first O. Booty threw to Fred Davis on the opening play but the ball was dropped. Booty slipped coming out from center and then on third down he overthrew Hazelton.
Sanchez brought the second offense out and handed off to Broderick Green who ran tough for eight yards. Broderick went up the middle again but this time Kevin Ellison came in quickly and wrapped him around the ankles for no gain. On third down Bradford got the handoff and was met at the line by Maualuga for no gain.
Chauncey Washington provided one of the highlight plays of the night on the first play of the next series with the ball at his own ten. He started right, broke one tackle, headed back toward the middle of the field, broke another tackle, and then broke a third tackle before streaking 78 yards down the left sideline and finally being knocked out of bounds at the opposite ten. It was the kind of run Chauncey could not have made last year, he is so much lighter and quicker this year. It was also the only run of the night for Chauncey but at least he made it one to remember. Stafon weaved his way inside the five. Broderick Green was stopped on a short run by Derek Simmons. John David Booty rolled right and tossed a two yard touchdown to Fred Davis.
Sanchez tried a pass in the flat but it was too high. He then completed a screen to Joe McKnight which went for five before Pinkard wrapped him up with a form tackle. A fumble on the next play was recovered by Fili Moala and returned for 20 yards.
Booty tried to hit Turner but Shareece Wright did a good job to knock the ball away. Stafon gained five yards with a run to the right before a Malcolm Smith tackle. With the ball inside the five, Booty waited for Turner to get behind the defense on a crossing route and the result was an easy TD completion.
The team got in some work on kickoff returns. Ronald Johnson returned one 53 yards, Joe McKnight returned one 20 yards and then Johnson returned another for 50 yards.
Michael McDonald brought his offensive unit on the field and they went three plays and out.
McKnight got the outside nicely with a quick burst and ran for 17 yards before a Pinkard tackle. Johnson tried a reverse but it was read nicely by Ellison for a yard loss. McKnight got two tough yards and paid for them with a combination hit from Maualuga and Rivers. Booty threw to Hazelton over the middle, the play would’ve been for a first down, but the ball was dropped.
Matthews opened the next series with a sack on Sanchez. Mark tried to hit RoJo on a slant but Vincent Joseph made a nice play to knock the ball away. McKnight got the handoff and was able to elude the first man with a nifty move but then about four defenders came in for the gang tackle, including Kaluka Maiava.
Broderick had a four yard run, he looked solid tonight. Malcolm Smith stopped a Broderick run for no gain. Chris Galippo had a sack. Michael McDonald threw a crossing route to Cooper Stephenson who bounced off a tackle attempt by Jim Abbott and rambled 50 yards for the touchdown.
Booty rolled right and threw low to David Ausberry who reached down along the sideline and made an impressive catch for a 15 yard gain. Everson Griffen and Kyle Moore combined for a sack on Booty. A short Gable run was stopped by Maualuga. Booty wanted to throw a fade to Ausberry but Pinkard did a great job jamming him at the line and throwing off the timing of the play. This play was a good indication of why Pinkard makes sense at corner because it gives you a pair of big, solid corners in Josh and Terrell. Booty completed a drag pass to Davis for seven yards and then another pass to Ausberry fell incomplete. David Buehler came in and made a 49 yard field goal.
The team tried to get some punt work but some substitution problems resulted in a pair of blocked punts by Abbott. The first was returned 25 yards by Abbott for a score, the second was returned 20 yards by Daniel Harper for a score.
Averell Spicer opened the next series with a sack on Sanchez. Mark then dumped a pass to Jody Adewale for nine yards and followed that with a nine yard completion to Brad Walker and a first down. Bradford had a great head of steam as he plowed into the middle of the line for three yards with a tackle by Galippo. Another Bradford run went for two with a stop by Smith. Sanchez then hit McCoy with a short pass, stop by Joseph. On fourth down, Broderick took a handoff up the middle for two yards and a fresh set of downs. Mark then dropped back deep and threw a beautiful ball down the right sideline which bounced out of the hands of RoJo. Simmons had a sack. Sanchez tried to go over the middle but the ball was picked by Marshall Jones.
The first defense went against the first offense with the defense getting a three and out. Ellis got a sack on the opening play. Booty completed a short three yard pass to Turner thanks in part to Stafon picking up Cushing on a blitz. Booty threw an incomplete pass.
Aaron Corp came in and handed off to Gable for two yards. Corp tripped coming back from center, loss on the play. A Corp pass to Walker went for eight yards and a change of possession.
Joe McKnight returned a punt 74 yards for a score.
Booty hit Hazelton on a bubble screen for four yards. Gable got two yards before Maiava and Spicer combined on the stop. A short run was stopped by Smith.
Corp came in and led an impressive drive. Bradford got things going with a nice change of field run, he started left and ended up going right before gaining 12 yards. Corp scrambled out of bounds and held onto the ball rather than forcing a bad decision. Stafon had his best run of the day when he went down the left sideline for 36 yards. Corp then completed back to back passes to Rhett Ellison, the first for 25 yards and then a shorter pass at the goal line. After a penalty, Corp hit RoJo for an eight yard touchdown and that was the end of the scrimmage.
Pete Carroll quotes
“It was a night to see a lot of guys. Aaron Corp made some good things happen in there, he went 4 for 4 and he did what we know he can do. Chauncey looked great, he’s lighter and it shows. Stafon Johnson ran well. This is a hard day for us to scrimmage with all that we do, the beach volleyball tournament, all that. Overall, it was a ragged scrimmage, we weren’t as sharp as we wanted to be. We had some trouble with our pass protection and the quarterbacks weren’t sharp, but there was a lot of pressure from the defense. Buehler looked great, he’s been very consistent.”
Recruits in attendance
Wes Horton, Curtis McNeal, Marquis Simmons, Maurice Simmons, Rahim Moore, Morrell Presley |

Man, that defense is gonna be sick. Would it be asking too much for the defense to average below 10 points allowed a game? _________________ WTB witty sig |

I wish they’d take the show to LSU…the look on Les Miles’ face when he goes to the locker room at halftime down 30-3 would be priceless |

Nah, LSU wouldn't want to schedule SC in the regular season... since for them, their conference schedule is hard enough... they don't want another potential loss in non-conference. _________________ WTB witty sig |

theres not really a practice report for mondays practice, only because they were only in helmets, no pads or anything like that, but still there is some interesting news :
| Quote: |
SC freshman defensive end Everson Griffen continues to be a polarizing figure among his teammates, who seem to either love him or feel something less than that.
"He's a freshman who acts like he is a sophomore and already belongs on the team," said one Trojan.
Some players respect Griffen because he does not show the normal jitters of a true freshman. Others are turned off by his perceived cockiness.
"He's going to be a good player and I like that he's calm and mature," said senior defensive end Lawrence Jackson, who is living with Griffen in training camp.
Other players are growing weary of Griffen's comments. He and defensive end Kyle Moore got into a spirited discussion about the rookie ball in the locker room this week.
The freshmen keep a football, dubbed the rookie ball, away from the rest of the team. If the veterans find it, the freshmen usually pay the price by getting doused with water after practice.
"We talked. He said we wouldn't find it," Moore said. "I had to explain to him that sooner or later, we will find it." |
That "spirited discussion" reportedly had both players throwing some punches, i guess those two have had many arguements already during fall practices. Everson Griffen is going to be a beast of a DE, i remember when he was recruited many were saying that he could play in the NFL straight out of HS, thats how much physical talent he has. I cant wait to see what this kid does on that football field. _________________

A cocky rookie. What's wrong with that? Unless he messes up the system, or shows off, I don't see a problem. _________________ Teams

UCLA isnt even Pac-10 championship material
i'll be waiting for your 13-9 response, which is the only smack talk that UCLA has on USC at the current moment. |

Kroublees I suggest you and your fellow FUCLA people get the hell out of this thread, you have no room to talk. One win and no national titles (ever) leave you no room to talk about a storied college football program. In closing, shut your pie hole. _________________

They have one. I know that's still not comparable to SC, but still, they have one in their trophy case. |
