Come on Shaq! This is a historical feat. He shakes the guys hand on national tv and congratulates him on the birth of his daughter, but on a night when just about every player and coach in the league had something to say, Shaq: no comment.

Honestly I wasn't that surprised when I saw that being that I've witnessed Shaq's immaturity of the years. Maybe he thinks that if he closes his eyes and keeps calling himself the most dominant ever (MDE) this will all go away.

Shaq can say or not say whatever he wants, it dosent really matter, because for the rest of his life whenever he looks in the record books, it will say Kobe-81 points 2nd most ever, maybe it will say Kobe-101 pts.

I personaly don't even want to hear shaqs monotone voice on this. He knows this isn't his league anymore and if Bynums dunk on him wasn't enough, Kobe's 81 is another reminder to him that his days of top doggy is near its end.

Shaq's playing days are almost done, he sucks now, he struggles to score 20! (and don't tell me it's cause Wade gets all the points, cause Shaq would score with will when he was with Kobe too!)

If he didn't say "no comment," he'd probably say something like, "I'm not into individual achievements. I'm here to win a championship. There's a reason why his team is barely over 50%."

Exactly.

Plus what did you expect from shaq? And who cares anyway, shaq was great in LA, now he's moved on, and we can just forget about his stupid comments (or no comments). And whether he says anything or not, kobe still had 81.

I do think you guys are going a little too far by saying he sucks now, shaq is still the most dominant force in the nba, although may not have as big of an impact as he once did. He wont repeat his glory days with kobe, thats for sure, but he's not done for good either.

I think shaq is very happy now. Because many coaches, players, retired players and reporters are still hating and blaming kobe for that 81. man1 man10 man11 man12 man13

I know I'm gonna catch hell for saying this but Shaq is barely the best center on his team...I love Zo's heart and the way he shuts down the paint, and when Shaq was out with his injury Zo put up arguably better overall numbers.

Shaq was speechless. He could only imagine another bling bling had he stayed and been willing to defer to Kobe with Kobe's super performances.

what's wrong with that statement? i think Zo is the better player this year. so do mannnny Heat fans. Zo is the complete opposite of Shaq. Zo never takes a possession off, he works hard on every play. Shaq is just lazy.

I just know that Shaq still has a loyal following here as well as the occasional Miami trolls that show up after Kobe has a big game.

Remember this is shaq we're talking about man12

oh, and so what? It's only another player's opinion. I prefer someone from the Hall of Fame calling about Kobe's shoes than a downhill player ready to breakdown at any moment.

(PS: Thank god finals week is over!!!!)

Does Russell need to have another talk with Shaq?

I don't really care what he did/didn't say. But at least a "congrads" would have been nice way to show he's matured and moved past the squabble with Kobe.

I'm fine with Shaq's no comment. That's a step up for him. Sometimes, if you don't have anything nice to say, just say nothing. He did better than Riles and Fatoine Walker.

I'd rather see an 81 point game against an all healthy Miami or Phoenix team.

The media needs to stop trying to find Shaq when Kobe does something and vice versa. Frankly, I'm sick of the way they instigate and twist words/stories around.

Media = Ultimate Trolls.

why are you guys trying to flame on shaq so much, i mean he was a big part of our 3 peat... he probably doesnt even care about kobe's 81, and he never even said anything bad about kobe, we should be mad if he makes some kind of smart alick comment that would demean kobe's performance, but he didnt.... so why flame?
