Bulls guard Jay Williams crashed his new motorcycle Thursday on the North Side, breaking his leg and other bones and leaving his career status in doubt.

The Bulls confirmed the accident and said Williams didn't suffer head injuries and his life was not in jeopardy.

''We're hearing he's going to be in surgery for three or four hours,'' Williams' father, David, told the Associated Press late Thursday night

I guess the idea that Duke players never do well in the NBA is becoming more of a fact. The NBA is bad luck for Duke players.

Yeah, this IS eerily similar to that Hurley accident isn't it? It is pretty sad indeed, how the NBA life is not too kind to Duke folk (the only real exceptions would be Elton Brand and Carlos Boozer, at least so far). Last I read the hospital people think Jay MIGHT only miss one season...still way too early to tell, though. But obviously the most important thing is his life off of the court, just getting him better, period...best wishes to him and his family thru all of this....

If that's it for him, that's a tough way to end his career. What is he doing riding a motorcycle anyways. I would be riding in a big SUV with the career he has. At least he has his Duke education to fall back on. Smart move for him to finish off his classes and graduate early.

Man... See this is a shame... This reminded me of the racing incodent a few years back that resulted in the death of Phills... Man.. At least he came out alive, and he can have time to get better... If teams still want what's in store.

He musta not had a permit if he didn't know how to opperate it u know? Even though I dont know how to drive a car, I have a permit, u know? I still know what to do, and how to do it, but I just dont know how to drive. So in a sence he could too have a permit and not know how to ride one yet, u know? Dayam, mah pain does go out to him and his family.. It's so sad to see this happen to a player... man6
